What's the difference between people who pray in church and those who pray in casinos?
The ones in the casinos are serious.

                          Twin 65-Story Towers for Karachi:
to be built within 2 years on I.I. Chundrigar Road

UAE group buys Rs 2.25b land to build 65-storey towers

ISLAMABAD (PPI)-Pakistan Railways has sold three acres of prime land on I.I. Chundrigar Road in Karachi to the National Logistic Cell at record price of 2.25 billion rupees through open bid.

An agreement to this effect was signed here Friday between Pakistan Railways and National Logistic Cell (NLC).

Secretary Railways Shakeel Durrani and Director General NLC Major General Khalid Zaheer Akhtar signed the documents.

Minister for Railways Shamim Haider Siddiqui, Minister of State for Railways Ishaque Khan Khakwani, Prince Sheikh Tariq Al-Qasimi of Inshaa Holdings of Sharjah and Chairman National Logistic Cell Lt. General Muhammad Afzal Muzaffar were also present on the occasion.

Railways Minister said that sixty percent of the sale money will go to Pakistan Railways while remaining forty percent will go to Sindh government.
He said that NLC in collaboration with Inshaa Holdings of Sharjah, UAE will build two sixty-five stories high rise buildings at the site.

He hoped that the construction of these towers will help generate economic activities and create employment opportunities in Karachi and the agreement will go a long way in attracting foreign investment.

The Minister of State Ishaque Khan Khakwani said that these two towers, which have designed by a Singapore firm will be completed at a cost of over ten billion rupees.

He said these buildings would be first high rise buildings after the Habib Bank Plaza in Karachi. He said these buildings would have big space for shopping malls, offices, flats of international standards.

To a question, he said various investors after this bidding have contacted Pakistan Railways to sale out other prime land lying on the I.I. Chundrigar Road for commercial investment.

Secretary Railways Shakeel Durrani said that it is for the first time that Railways has been able to earn huge amount through foreign investment under open bidding.

He hoped that Railways will successfully sale out more land for commercial purpose, which will result in speeding up economic activities throughout the country besides getting more earnings for the improvement of Railways.
