Boston comes to mind. To borrow a military phrase, they believe she may already be 'inside the wire'.

It's another method of eyes and ears to the ground. Having the public alert to possible threats is no bad thing.

Spreading panic vs eyes and ears? I believe there are more FSB, OMON, you name it agents on the ground then citizens.

According to unconfirmed sources, Ibragimova is already within the wire and was last seen on Sovetskaya Street in downtown Sochi.

With any luck Russia has an ample supply of explosive sniffing dogs. If they detect it, no reason in stopping them, let em go tear into them..

Ideally, one or both of those ships would be an LHD/LHA class. Surely if the Russians can sail Kuznetsov and Kiev class carriers through the Bosphorus, then the US should be able to send a couple of helicopter carriers in for contingency rescue operations.

That's the question mark: Will Russia go full-on Kursk head-up-their-ass and insist for days that there's no problem while people die by the dozen?

[conspiracy hat]How convenient, just when the riots in Ukraine took the first tolls. [/conspiracy hat]

If something bad happens in Sochi may God help those who are in, Russians are well known for their surgical, promptly responses.

God will not need to help them, the Russian security forces are world-renown for those surgical and prompt responses, as you said.

Russian forces are way above what they used to be.It's not that they lost their qualities,it's that they added Western stuff wrt TTP's.

Terrorism is a global threat, there is no absolute protection against that. Any global meeting, global public event becomes natural target for terrorists. But that doesn't mean we should give up living normal life. And arrogance is not good here, everyone is in danger in the modern World, and noone knows where the terrorists can hit next time and who will suffer then. As for the Sochi Olympics, I’m as much sure that’ll be okey, as it can be.

Sorry, cant shake the feeling that if we give Russia anti-IED tech, then within the year counters to that tech will be in insurgent hands killing more Americans. Putin v Jihadis... I feel like rooting for and against both sides at the same time.

You seem very confused. Let me simplify your life.Russia is fighting the Jihadis for the simple reason they're a possible mortal threat to her.Russians share our most important values and characteristics with the West, them being European and Christian the most important. In this matter, everything else is of secondary importance at best.

Everybody can disagree or confront Russia on plenty other issues. And everybody does.

Since when is China European and Christian?

China is increasingly Christian. But that's not the point.

One does not need to be a Christian (or the West) to be targeted by and have a massive problem with Jihadis.
