    those masts and sensors were to be 'stealth'd'.

    adding in those external mounts defeats the whole purpose, but saves the cash.

    Not sure about who's drank how much champagne, but I'd imagine part of it being, similar to Irans F-14's, Russia having 'indirect' access to the F-35 at some point via Turkey is a bit concerning.

    on recovery vehicles I would think (no basis of fact here) that stability and traction as well as lowering/spreading...
