    $200b might not be much next to US GDP, but next to NASA budgets... its insurmoutably huge. ISS took stick for cost a few tens of billions, including Shuttle flights (though how that has changed now, I dont know).

    I guess the US blocks could have been attached to ISS robotically with some large launch vehicles. Please correct me here: It could be Arian 5, Energiya, Atlas.........

    Russia spends $800mln on space which makes 0.1% of its GDP, while US spends $17bn which makes just 0.01% of its GDP.... you can easily spend more if this was reall priority for nation..... I guess people don't want to have their taxes go for space programs
