Yes indeed it did and as the crackdown by Brezhnev in 1981 shows it was powerless to do anything until Gorbachev relaxed the USSRs hold on the satellite countries in 1989. John Pauls influence was mere tokenism in the world of realpolitik.

Its a pity so many children had to suffer because he wouldnt put his own house in order first dont you think ?

Not only do I disagree, I strongly disagree. John Paul was the one who stood defiantly against Brezhnev. He condemned the crackdown and he was shot for it.

His messages was ringing loud and constant throughout Poland and after he was shot, his message was one of forgiveness, to stem an uprising once the evidence came out that Moscow's hands were not clean in the matter.

It's a pity that you won't see the good for the bad in religion and won't see the bad for the good in science.

The fact remains that Gorbachev freed Poland not John Paul II. As far as the assassination attempt goes that was shrouded in the disinformation of the Cold War , with the West seeking to use it to its greatest advantage.

And what to you is worst a paedophile or someone who shelters him from justice to commit further atrocities ?

If only all men of faith could follow it and abide by the rules laid down by this gentle soul then the world would be a darned sight happier place and we wouldnt even be having this discourse.

    Gorbachev disagrees with you.

‘The collapse of the Iron Curtain would have been impossible without John Paul II’. - Gorbachev, April, 2005

An Italian court determined that Moscow was involved. Are you saying that a secular court is no better than a religious court?

I am saying that you will say and do anything just to refuse that religion can be and has been a force for good, and history changing good at that.

What ALL of us have been trying to drill into your head is that WE are human. NEVER MIND THE EXCUSE, we will find it, either for good or for evil. We have demonstrated that men have used per example science to do butchery far more than religion ever did.

300 million people died under the name of science in the 20th century. Find me another such example of mass murder.

Oh, be advised, you are on your last legs here.

On my last legs ...... because I disagree !

You were the one wanted me to continue this debate, now I get threats for doing so !

I should have known better with a topic as emotive and irrational as religion sadly .

Lets just agree to disagree and move on. In future simply do not respond to my posts and I'll reciprocate :(

You're not continuing the debate. You have thus far been putting your bigotry forth to no end, even with atheist who has been trying to clear the path for you.

    At this point, you have

    1) refused that the science can be wrong
    2) refused that the science is deliberately wrong
    3) refused to see the good in religion
    4) refused to see that God can co-exist with science
    5) paint all who accepts God as inherently evil
    6) nickle and dime Men of God who force good into the world

And that is what you have done deliberately.

What you have NOT done is

    1) study the science which we try to instill upon you
    2) learn about the pitfalls of science that can be abused
    3) accept that science can be just as every bit as evil as the religion you spout on

At this point, yes, you are trolling. You HAVE NOT DEBATED OUR POINTS but instead continue to insult those who accept God into their lives.

We have been trying to accommodate your views and show you how it can fit within ours.

YOU HAVE NOT SHOWN US THE SAME COURTESY.

So, why the hell should we continue to extend our invite to you, especially when you REFUSED TO STUDY the science to which you continued to put your milk box on.

I too subscribe to the Africa theory. I've read (I think it was from the world genome project website) that about 30k years have spanned since then and physical pheontypes (races) are a product of environmental and biological evolution. Humanoids have been around for roughly 750k years so things are speeding up.

In my opinion, it's much more believable that monkeys and apes evolved from people.

I suspect that without much difficulty we all can all think of persons whose decendants will likely evolve into fine simian species.

Arr.... I believe the theory states that monkeys apes and humans all evolved from a common ancestor - which makes them our "cousins" not our "grandparents".

I'm going with evolution. Furthermore, I believe if we can evolve, then we can de-volve. Just look at congress. A bunch of actual MONKEYS could do a better job though they are trying thier level best to act like a bunch of chimps! Look at it this way, we have trained chimps to fly spacecraft, think you could do that with Harry Reid?

I'm afraid to watch C-Span anymore expecting to see a poo-flinging fight to break out anytime!
