Look, anything taken to the extreme or indulged in is harmful. Whether it be food, drugs, hell even money these days.

Look as I have said before as a rule of thumb evil men usually do evil things and good men usually do good things. In order to get good men to regularly do evil things though just invoke religion :(

Nowhere did I claim all believers were zealots. But as 9/11 has shown it only takes a few who are to contaminate many other to do thier bidding for thier respective Gods.

Nowhere have I said that men of faith like Desmond Tutu cannot do good, however I suspect the number slain as a consequence of religion will greatly outnumber those saved by it, as evidenced by the innumerable sectarian conflicts throughout the ages and today.

The fall of Communism had little to do with John Pauls tokenisms and everything to do with Gorbachevs reforms. He not only ignored the rampant paedophilia practiced amongst his own priests for decades but covered it up !. He is a poor example in my view .
