Exactly, but broken is a complex term. The greenies seem to think yesterday to about 5200-11,500 B.C.is the way its supposed to be ie working since its an ideal environment for modern man. I have a problem with this whole concept and it implies a static climate which is totally opposed to science. AGW is a farce on its face, we ahve wasted decades and untold riches on an argument that is fallacious and efforts based on a false premise. Instead of building a society capable of dealing with natural climate change we've demanded our mother hold perfectly still while we suck at her tit.

Have we been good stewards of the environment- NO. A lot of the climate clean up is the right thing to do for the wrong reasons. We have polluted the skies and water, collapsed fisheries, created acid rain etc. These issues need to be corrected, but based on the simple logic of cleaning up our own mess, not becuase if we don't we are going to die by fire/ice as the case may be.

The damage is done thanks to the NY Times article based on the 'leaked' and faked documents from Heartland.

I haven't been able to find any follow-up by the Times correcting the record.

Apparently the guy who 'stole' the documents is a member of the NSF and chaired a panel on science ethics. We live in strange times.

Nor will you, any more than you've seen retractions over any other of the bullshyt over the years.
Looks like Gleick will at least suffer some adverse consequences though.

i live in new york and we barely had a winter this year, no snow storms, only snowed once very lightly, if that doesnt spell global warming idk what does!

I live in Wellington and we barely had a summer this year, no heat waves, only was over 20c once, if that doesn't spell global cooling idk what does!

I live in Skopje, we had a summer in full force 40C+ in July, then one of the coldest and snowiest winters in the past decade or so. If It doesn't spell we are doomed...

Oh, dont be nasty to the guy. It is true that NY (and most of the tri-state area) did have an unusual winter (major snow upstate in Oct. almost no snow in areas adjacent to the Atlantic Long Island) and is currently having a hotter/dryer Spring than normal.

Is it irrefutable proof of GW or the end of times? No. But it is out of the norm and something actually worth looking into. My guess would be an El Niño side effect, but AFAIK we aren't in an El Niño year right now.
