    Conclusion: it's warm in Israel.

Ironically, Cancun has experienced it's third day in a row of record cold.

Nature has a sense of humor it seems, and tends to know where these climate summits are going to be.

Cancun COP16 attendees fall for the old “dihydrogen monoxide” petition as well as signing up to cripple the U.S. Economy | Watts Up With That?
Conference on Climate Change in Cancun, Mexico.

This year, CFACT students created two mock-petitions to test U.N. Delegates. The first asked participants to help destabilize the United States economy, the second to ban water.

The first project, entitled “Petition to Set a Global Standard” sought to isolate and punish the United States of America for defying the international community, by refusing to bite, hook, line and sinker on the bait that is the Kyoto Protocol. The petition went so far as to encourage the United Nations to impose tariffs and trade restrictions on the U.S. in a scheme to destabilize the nation’s economy. Specifically, the scheme seeks to lower the U.S. GDP by 6% over a ten year period, unless the U.S. signs a U.N. treaty on global warming.

This would be an extremely radical move by the United Nations. Even so, radical left-wing environmentalists from around the world scrambled eagerly to sign.

The second project was as successful as the first. It was euphemistically entitled “Petition to Ban the Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO)” (translation water). It was designed to show that if official U.N. delegates could be duped by college students into banning water, that they could essentially fall for anything, including pseudo-scientific studies which claim to show that global warming is man-caused.

Despite the apparently not-so-obvious reference to H2O, almost every delegate that collegian students approached signed their petition to ban that all too dangerous substance, which contributes to the greenhouse effect, is the major substance in acid rain, and is fatal if inhaled.

Perhaps together, the footage associated with these two projects will illustrate to mainstream America the radical lengths many current U.N. delegates are willing to go to carry out an agenda no more ethical, plausible or practical than the banning water.

Don't you know that Hydrogen Hydroxide is dangerous, it causes many deaths each year, particularly children and it is used in very household :roflmao:

Also a combination of two gases is known to promote combustion, and cause considerable damage each year, including deaths - this 4 N2 - 1 O2 mixture is found every where - It clearly must be banned

Anyone arguing Pro-Global warming, could you please answer one question for me.
I remember back in the 70's, when the price of oil was high, and everyone was screaming about carbon dioxide in the atmosphere being a man made problem, a well respected scientist crunched the numbers and concluded that a single volcanic eruption pumped more CO2 into the atmosphere than mankind has ever emitted since the beginning of his existence on the planet.
How can you possibly argue that GW is caused by man? It's ridiculous.
And before you idiots go any further on your GW crusade, see how the more you convince the rest of the world that GW is caused by man, (translate GW is caused by AMERICA and our industrial revolution), and watch the whole world blame US for causing GW, and for everything else that is wrong with the world. Wake up.
Don't listen to me, I'm a wack job.

About 5 to 10 years ago I read a prediction by an infallible 'expert' that the Greenland Ice sheet was melting, and that we were all going to drown.

It may have been komrade algore but I am not certain.

Just prior to that I had read a long piece on the recovery of a Lockheed P-38 that had landed on that ice sheet in 1944, and had been abandoned. About 50 years later they decided to find and recover it. They DID find it - about 300 feet down in the ice!

Thus, the plane had been covered by an EXTRA 300' of ice formed on top of it.

The Greenland Ice Sheet is GROWING, not shrinking! The Greenland Ice Sheet is CONSTANTLY at MINUS degrees centigrade!

    QED!

    Very not true. Next?

Our studies show that globally, volcanoes on land and under the sea release a total of about 200 million tonnes of CO2 annually.

This seems like a huge amount of CO2, but a visit to the U.S. Department of Energy's Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) website (Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center) helps anyone armed with a handheld calculator and a high school chemistry text put the volcanic CO2 tally into perspective. Because while 200 million tonnes of CO2 is large, the global fossil fuel CO2 emissions for 2003 tipped the scales at 26.8 billion tonnes. Thus, not only does volcanic CO2 not dwarf that of human activity, it actually comprises less than 1 percent of that value.
From: Which produces more CO2, volcanic or human activity?
I enjoy being wrong too much to change my mind.

Thanks Armchair General. If that info wasn't from USGS, I probably wouldn't have believed it.

I guess I'll start holding my breath now.

Do they count the 7 billion sets of human and animal lungs exhaling CO2 every 15 or 20 second or so?

Not to mention a half billion farting cows.

Half of North America and Europe is buried under snow. Damn this global warming.
