They would probably tar and feather me if I ever show up there calling "global climate change" as "Rev. Al and the global warming cult."

Sure I would. Look at the guff I've taken here over the last few years just by demanding factual analysis and support of "global warming". I've been called everything from stupid to Hitler to a corporate stooge.

Dalem, you bring up points that cannot be confirmed or denied, although my personal belief is that the warming of our Globe is a natural process that will not be stopped by any means that we posses. If you want statistical evidence, deep rooted analysis or any of the rest of that I guess maybe you should look for it, not rely on others to do your homework for you. Again, it's not that I disagree with your idea, just look a bit and you may notice a few unusual things about our current climate situation.

I believe personally that the media has hyped the situation in a completely skewed/slanted way that makes it impossible to determine fact from fiction, but again, who knows...

Cannot be confirmed or denied? To what points are you referring?

The point is to look into it yourself and determine your own truths from what you discover. Most people spend their time listening to other people, to waiting for conclusive evidence when logical evidence is all around them. I'm just encouraging people to do the more radical thing and look into it. Unless I missed a Professor od Climotology sign on earlier I would say we are all far from experts on the subject, our arguements are based either on our opinions or others. Let's get educated people, think outside the box and look at what possible effects Global Warming would have and see if those criterium have been filled.

I personally am trying to find ice core tempeture readings from the antarctic over the last couple of decades, as ice must reach a specified tempeture throughout before it melts, but the data is hard to find...

oh yeah, specifically the fact that you have asked for factual evidence of Global Warming, the studies that have been done are inconclusive at best, primarily because global climate shifts take so long to happen and we have only been studying for the better part of 20 years...who knows, I might actually agree with you...

Striphis.

I suggest you read the dozens of threads we have here on this and related topics before you encourage me to do anything, hmm?

again, not nescessarily directed at you dude, just a general reminder that we should a do our own research to come up with our own opinions, not let someone else dictate our opinions for us, but thanks so much for letting me know what's up....makes me feel awfully cowed....;p

We have done a lot of research, both on arguments for and against "man made" global warming.

So far, everything that suggests it's man-made can be also proven other wise.

Basically, "man made" global warming scenario relies too much on correlation and very little scientific model. That correlation is increase CO2 gas in the atmosphere is causing the earth to warm up.

I can come up with correlations all day but it doesn't prove a thing.

Fact: the world was colder between 1940s and 1970s than it is from 1980s until today.

Fact: we had virtually no regulations on air polution until after 1970.

Conclusion: air polution standards started the global warming trend.

Fact: the world was colder between 1940s and 1970s than it is from 1980s until today.

Fact: atmospheric atomic tests were banned after 1960s.

Conclusion: atmospheric atmoic tests kept the earth cool.

Supporting evidence: scientists agree that nuclear winter is a very real threat.

See how easy that was?

Excellent!

We are in agreement.

Man-made global warming is a farce.
