Messaged him on FB, no response yet.
“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

All good thanks. It's interesting, the entire fault all the way to the Kermadecs is active. Thousands of quakes over the last seven hours. Wellington survived fine though everything's now closed. been asleep for the last 4 hours, just getting updates on Tsunamis now. Looks like the entire country is on the move. Probably trying to get further away from Australia.

We've settled on 7.5 for the first, one of the stations wasn't reporting because it was destroyed in the quake

Glad you are OK. Hope your country dodges the worst of what could be.

If you move too much eastwards, you might hit their west coast.

Bit of a slow death going on really. We're getting 5.5-6.5 every hour or so, buildings in the city that survived happily for the first few hours are now starting to fall apart. We're loosing some of the early waterfront buildings despite strengthening meant to make them safe up to 7, plus some of the newer apartment blocks are giving out (all long since evacuated of course). If it keeps going overnight we're going to get full collapses.

Stay safe, buddy. Is there any organization but the Red Cross that accepts donations?

Things a lot better today, the frequency and intensity has dropped right off. Wellington's waterfront has taken a hammering but apart from that is all good. There's a few buildings that'll have to be demolished but nothing collapsed (yay earthquake standards). Kaikoura got smashed though, HMNZS Canterbury is currently evacuating the place. Looks like we'll need a new state highway.
