Warding off evil eye: Baby married to dog

A baby girl in West Bengal was married off to a dog "to ward off the evil eye" that her father feared due to a premature appearance of her teeth.

Six-month-old Disha married her canine groom Pomi Monday at a Hindu ceremony at Polba village in Hooghly district.

The marriage was conducted for the girl's "well-being" as she had grown teeth before her "annoprasan" or "rice ceremony" - a function when the baby is fed solids for the first time.

Reports said the girl's father Kamalendu Bandopadhayay, who works in a court, was advised by some priests to conduct the marriage. The man spent about Rs.40,000 on the ceremony.

Pomi, who wore a floral garland for the occasion, is likely to be looked after by his new "in-laws".

The girl's mother was against the ritual, but her objections were reportedly overruled.

This is only possible in 'Great India'

Why the f*ck do these desert religions( the sort that posters like Neo and PKF Surd here) think any of the pagan/tribal customs are anythng to make fun of?
I have tremendous respect for Pagan/Tribal culture and beliefs, some of which are indegenous to India as opposed to the contempt for 'organised' religious loonies of the desert (that includes islam/xtianity and desert influenced sikhi as well). In the least the Pagan/Tribal customs place a lot of importance to harmony with nature and its inabitants as opposed to these desrt religions who have spread disharmony EVERY SINGLE place they have managed to go. These desert fanatics are the bane of this planets existence.

Let me ask you what the fuc* you know about anything about this custom that gave ignorant little desert schmucks the right to even laugh at it??

Its still 'great' because communal little khali-stani schmucks like you will never find a place here. Keep living off the welfare in Kanneda/US/UK whine about Khali-stan there.
India will do its best to protect its peaceful tribal minorities and massacre separatist schmucks like your ilk by the thousands if need be.

They are better people than what your desert religions can ever aspire to be.

Khali-stan supporters are little girls hiding abroad, if u think you are so great and deserve your own land come back and fight for it, stop crying for it from abroad...i have more respect for militants who actually try and fight for their believes rather than these peoples who whine from abroad while their own people back home are happy with the situation

Sure mate but its atleast better than girls getting married to an antiquated book which frequently happens in the land of the pure. Better get the Khali-Sthan in your head CTscanned for it definitely appears to be empty......

When did I specifically mention you dumb tw*t? I was responding to the condescending tone of yours and your friend from the desert to one of India's tribal/indegenous people.

That it is a desert religion, one that is expansionist and based on exclusionism. That -like all desert religions- it preaches that only what written in their 'holy book' is true and regards every human development - even science- as against its creationist beliefs.
Its not difficult to imagine why it is in conflict with every single civilisation on earth.
