No, I do feel confused.
To me, the meaning of anti-foreigners is: Those foreigners who liveing or working in China are targeted. They can feel the Chinese being hositle to them. They are treated badly. And I also don't know the meaning of 'chuchu'. Last edited by xunil : 05-04-2008 at 05:16 AM. |

Sorry for my excessive attention to wording. I found there are some words which has very different meaning in China and West. Like the 'Dragon', if you call a Chinese 'Dragon'. He will think it's a compliment. But if you call a westerner 'Dragon', he will feel the opposite way.

I will re-post your original quote and my question (the emphasis is mine):

You have posted five times since I asked this question and I have repeated it in different ways several times. You still refuse to answer. You have tried to characterize demonstrations in China in a particular way. I have given you a clear example of protests in China against a target whose only crime appears to be the foreign nationality of its owners. Who is targetting it and why is it being targetted? Stop hiding behind bogus 'cultural misunderstandings' and trumped up language difficulties. My question is simple. Answer it.

I had said: You can say it's anti-Carrefour, not anti-foreigners. You can say Chinese are targetting Carrefour(enterprise), but not foreigners(poeple). You know there were nude protests against KFC in other countires. Were they anti-foreigners or anti-Americans? |

Xunil,
All right? What do you call people who are outside China and are not very friendly to China and do acts which are not good for China? And by acts I don't mean spying or attacking China physically.

G'day, bigfellow
the answer is simple. some source shows several carrefour' big shareholders are funding tibet independent movement, period. btw, though unfortunately i don't see it, i am expecting a long due anti-"foreigner" movement. because some of them deserve it, . i experienced lots of "anti-foreigner" words and actions in countries other than china, why "foreigners" should be immuned from that. the fact is, as i mention several time here, ccp govt is the biggest racist' butt kisser in this world. let me show you the fomula here: ccp govt treat "foreigners" >>> foreigners' own country treat them >>> foreigners' own country treat chinese or indians >>> ccp govt treat their own people. anymore questions? ![]() Quote:

The Chinese are attacking Carrefour because it's French.
During the Tibet protests, the Tibetans attacked Chinese simply because they were Chinese. When asked, people responded "because of a build-up of frustration after years and years of CCP's so-called cultural genocide". Well, now the Chinese are attacking foreigners simply because they're foreigners, for more or less the same reason as above. |

Spot on! The French screwed the Olympic Flame triumphant March through the world showcasing China's Arrival on the World stage!! Tibetans did not attack the Chinese. Most of the protesters were non Tibetan. But the Chinese gave the Tibetans a show of their anger in Tibet and elsewhere!! And Quiet Flows the Yangtse Kiang and the Hwango Ho - the sorrows of China!! |

Culture Revolution, the Economic Reform, Tiananmen Square, the cliques' struggle... These are all struggles within the CCP, or a result of it. Currently, pragmatists are in power, advocating economic development and social stability. The left, Mao's followers, attack corruption and the uneven wealth distribution, calling a retrogressive change. The right, more prone to the western ideas, regard democracy as the sole remedy of China. Of course, CCP would not tolerant these "noise" publicly, but the "consensus" is clearly a result of power struggle. If you knows the "word tricks" of Chinese politics, many indications of incline to certain faction can be found even in official documents. If you can read Chinese, you can easily find debate going on between supporters from different factions in a BBS like here (I would be tagged a "national traitor" in no time by the neo-Red guards ). If one day the press is freed, you guys would have an easier time digging these subtle messages.
