given the recent pariah status of muslims by ignorant anti-muslim people
muslims in aust and india enjoy security mainly due to true multi party democracy
im an indian catholic a minority in india sometimes we face harassment from hindu nationalist nutjobs but we never felt alienated once in india due to the fact that we knew the govt would never harm us and we have representatives in the govt mainly congress party who have had a very secular history

I am gratitude for this. China's population is too larege, we thank India for receiving them. Hope they enjoy a happy life in India and grateful for them to loosen the popolation pression in China.

Are you kidding me!? How do you think the Dalai Lama ended up in India? Or is that stuff censored over there?

I do not care anybody like Dalai Lama. May god bless him . Oh, sorry, he does not believe in God.

And the Tibetans are still crossing.
Thanks again.

And it is these same Indians who are willing to give up claim on the Aksai Chin part of Kahmir held by China since '62 war providing China gives up its claim on parts of Eastern India. But why are your "peaceful and progressive", leaders not willing to do that?
Your learned history quite well, but please change a textbook. Then we will talk about this.

Oh, and maybe if this info was censured out for you; Dalai Lama does not want independence for Tibet, only more rights for Tibetans; and Indians still stand by him!
Please tell Dalai:stay in India for ever. We Chinese are happy to see that.

Everyone does. But your leaders will not let the neighbourhood live in peace!

Do we invade India ?? Or just because we support the Pakistan?? We support them just like you support Tibet.

Well, you shouldn`t be. Considering your country has had problems with every country it borders.
Are you sure???? We have a quite good relationship with many nations, especially, Pakistan. Do you have a good relationship??maybe, wo knows..

Don't see how its related but Good for you!
My English is not so well, after all, the British did not stay in China for thati so so so long time. I feel sorry for the confusion.

2. Do you know that your nations achieved industralization at least 100 years earlier than China? Please believe that 100 years later, Chinese people will enjoy much more so-called human rights than you.
Highly fallacious argument. I've seen this before with multicultural apologists who say that because Islam was founded 600 years after Christianity, we ought not to judge practices in the Islamic world not by the standards of today, but rather the standards that existed in medieval Europe.

Date of industrialization has nothing to do with the amount of human rights a society should have relative to others. Look at England, even they had requirements for search and arrest warrants, due process, prohibitions on torture, self-incrimination etc., hundreds of years ago.

Why doesn't the Chinese government allow people to say what they please? To form a civil society, which is the true bedrock of a stable society. Would the entire country collapse if people were to do and say as they please? Worship as they please? Associate peacefully with others? Be allowed due process of law? Require search warrants? Allow for free and fair elections? Would these things collapse China?

I live in the most heavily criticized country in the world, for some years running. Yet I don't run around implying that others have no right to criticize the United States because they haven't been here, because they don't live here. I grin and bear it. If I feel like it, I debate it.

It's called growing a thick skin.

And since when should a country's population and diversity determine the amount of freedoms its citizens should enjoy? If that's the case, then North Korea ought to be completely free. It has a small population, and its ethnically homogeneous. Using that logic, the United States ought to be one of the most unfree countries, as it has fifteen-fold the population and is one of the most diverse.

1. 5 trips to China over 10 yrs. even if i had not visited China i could still criticize your appalling human rights record, your dislocation of tibetans by chinese in their own land ( the same thing done by indonesia in east timor and yes white anglo saxons of aborigines in australia 200+ years ago )....or to answer your question about visiting china i am reminded that i dont have to stick my hand in a pot of boiling water to know its hot
2. japan was destroyed after world war 2 industrially and they managed to re-industrialize in 30-40 years......their human rights look ok to me...
3. oars in someone's boat? when i see any nation being illegally invaded, occupied etc by any other nation it is my right and desire to speak up against this. By the way, i have protested iraq and various other western interventions too
4. yes, you may have a better lifestyle now versus 10 years ago, but hitler did well for the germans pre world war 2 and mussolini got the trains running on time, that doesn't equate to a more equitable and prosperous nation
5. as said above, India, Indonesia....populations of 1 billion and 250 million...both democracies...seem to be doing well.
6. you want respect....respect is earnt not just given.....

and how does it feel to be one of a few communist dictatorships left in the world? Vietnam seemed to leave China well behind in their peoples material standard of living/general happiness ( 3 trips there )....

Is it popular to show the age, gender, and nationality before posting one’s points?

It means you do not read the thread and follow it and instead chip in to test the waters.

Yes, that is also a way.

Read the first post!

He was just being a gentleman since the Chinese women posters are quick to react about being gentlemen when they have nothing much to contribute towards the thread.

Doriss,
I read your arguments and let me explain my thoughts.
about free speech;
I, personally, support free speech at all costs. but since it is a "playdooh" anymore, it is open for abusing. one should think the consequences of her/his words and speak later. as a famous saying "think twice, say once".but all of this stuff has nothing to do when we talk about Tibet, Xinjiang or Taiwan. (I mentioned these because the subject is China, yet the familiar problems are almost everywhere). I can ignore media, media often lies, this is the truth; but what about videos, documents and 1st hand experiences, stories? I do not think they all conspire upon CCP.

Quote:
Sometimes, we really have the rihgts and freedom to do something, but we just should not to do it.
We should not do sth just because we want to, because maybe it hurts others so much.
I completely agree. on the other hand, the opposite of your free speech worries is "oppression". It may be arguable, but in my opinion: the right way is the middle path (nothing should be exaggrated).anyway, the free speech is rarely being applied, even in democracies. WAB isnot a democracy but again you can speak freely.

Quote:
To tell the truth, I am astonished to know that so many foreigners are hostile to China. Though my family is poor and I have to work quite hard to achieve a good life, but still I believe in a bright future
I am not hostile Cina and its ppl but what they have done to Tibet and Xinjiang. that is how I am against PKK,AQ, Iraqi war, Hezbollah terrorists,Israel terrorism,Armenian-Turkish incidents and so on.

wow, guess what options i have that you don't? since i and 60% of the australian population disagreed with this iraq policy, we sacked all our politicians in the most recent elections......and australia is now removing out combat troops from iraq...

democracy in action.....

when did you get to vote you any of your countries political parties/policies/politicians....???

let me see, other govt's that supported this are also gone and removing troops, spain etc.....

even the US will be out of there eventually...
