And you ignored one premise I mentioned. Many Chinese dont know much about the Inidan and lack of communication. In your university, they can talk face-to-face to understand each other. It is another situation. In fact, I think that it is much easier for Chinese to make friends with people from Asia rather than with westerners. BTW, I talked a lot in past few days with my Japanese friend, Chibana, on a similar topic. And she said in Japan, people prefer people from Europe and North America much more. Do you deny that? Yet, the maintain their culture zealously. They rarely wear Kimonos. Because they are in a hurry to equate themselves with the best, they like to know more about westerners and so it appears that they prefer Europeans. Why do you think they started the war by bombing Pearl Harbour? To show they are as good as the others as also avenge Commodore Matthew Perry's gunboat diplomacy! They accepted their defeat in WWII and MacArthur's humiliation and quietly worked their way to best the US in their own game. Clever little fellows, what?

Their past peace of thousands of years(it is unimaginable in China), their protect to cultural, combination of hard-working and quick-learning and so on, though they still have some defects. And what Chibana told me was that Japanese firstly admired life in US and Europe and then became to prefer people from there. BTW, Amaterasu, has the Sakula( Cherry blossom in Japanese ) got very beautiful in Japan now? |

I also experienced it myself. I have a very good Indian friend, and we used to chat a lot. My past roommate, another Chinese girl, said "Why you and an Indian become friends?!" I said, he was nice. And then she told me her views about Indians and I thought most of her words was only based on a "common" bias, because she never had a friend from India. And every time when she mentioned my Indian friends, she used the word " A Cha" rudely instead of his name or other words. Actually, in some places in North China, people sometimes call the Indians "A Cha". In other areas, people use the word "A San" widely. Both "A Cha" and "A San" are not very polite saying. |

Hope it will become a nice trip!A female friend also suggested that I wear my China-traditional and very beautiful dressing, a Qipao, to India and surprise those Indian guys Ladies also rarely wear Qipao in China. The reason is not clear. Perhaps it is because Qipao is more expensive. Sir, if I can really make the trip to India, could I ask for some information from you? |

We also have rude words for Chinese, but unlike Chinese disliking Indians, we don't dislike the Chinese. A Cha is it? ![]() No need to wear Qipao. Our dresses are equally dazzling! |
