Rise of the Religious Right in the Republican Party Quote:
Anyhow, last time I am in this thread, so have no fear of my post-count approaching yours, Dreadnought.I'd hate for you to have to take me seriously simply because I posted a metric ton of nonsense. |

I have no fear whatsoever even if surpassed however if you choose to inject one liners into a topic and leave it at that then you deserve the booting one recieves. If memory serves you threw the stones with the affont that you made without any merit merely a snipe at the conversation being held. I made no mention as to a ton of metric non sense that my friend was you. I think many people here know me by now to say that I merely catch those stones thrown and hurl them back at the intended party. Those who want to inject with snipes instead of sense to begin with. Your move friend. |

Speaking as an eye-witness to the evidence of the Holocaust of the Third Rheich (perpetrated against indigents, deviants, misfits, gypsies & minorities), I must call to question the convenient ignorrance of facts expressed by leaders at multiple levels in the interest of political expediency. We would be much better off standing up to evil.
Friends, let us recall the words of the father of Modern Conservatism, Edmund Burke who said; "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing".

I think a more realistic question to ask is how many good things can I man do at once. If Bush were to say yes to did it happen..did it really happen? If Bush were to say no it didnt then it would give his political foes plenty of ammunition. Amazing how this question seems to come to a republican president when the democrats are in trouble of foundering. Perhaps just a ploy to slow down or derail the republican presidential agenda. You will note these questions never came to light during a Democratic presidency.
Why not pose this question to all of the presidential canidates. After all we expect this question to resurface after the elections. If it doesnt then that just proves it was a ploy for his political rivals. If it does then we shall see just how good our canidates that want to become president are at something quite a few are'nt too familiar with..Foreign Policy. ![]() |

[quote=Traps;434373]Mr Trapido is a Republican/Tory supporter BTW for those who are interested.
Don't let it all hang out Traps! Some things are best unrevealed. Then you can play Devils Advocate with a straight face, and destabilise the opposition. I can see that I shall have to give you lessons in Deviousness! |

Sorry to reply to my own post
I find it amazing that anybody who looks at issues from both sides is assumed to be a Democrat. Aren't Republican supporters (of which I am one) supposed to have open minds?
I think some of the guys on here better start reading your newspapers (all of which are on the internet) : Republicans are starting to look at many of the policy issues, which were previously considered taboo, in a different light. If you read my article you would have seen that I placed the president's position before my readers and asked could a Democrat have done any differently. The gap between left and right both in America and Britain has shrunk. There's almost a confluence of the two ; where previously policy issues clearly defined which party you followed. As such you have to look at each policy rather than assuming that anything progressive is Democrat and Republicans are conservative morons who don't move with the times. The biggest insult, in my humble opinion, is in assuming that any question posed, has to be anti-Republican from looking at the headline. In other words no Republican would be open-minded enough to look at the question or article before formulating an answer. Having said that some guys assumed it was the Nazi as opposed to Armenian issue because they never looked at the rest. Last edited by Traps : 12-06-2007 at 02:50 AM. |
