The socialist light burns bright in Canada today folks. Our very own Taliban Jack, leader of the NDP(Canadas socialist party), has decreed 30% of his partys seats shall be occupied by women only, with a futher 10% reserved for the visable minorities.(as apposed to...what, invisable minorities?I mean what the hell does that mean). Anyway, Taliban Jack(called so because he once proposed a little get together with the Taliban leader-ship in a touchy feely circle of friends happy clap), seems to have forgotten the Transgendered,the Gay and Lesbian cartel, and the other 5,700 or so Socialist tax payer causes just a-waiting. What about their percentage? That sure leaves a lot of space for folks like me now dosn,t it. Not a problem in Taliban Jacks party. Take the remaining 60% and give 30% to women only and 10% to visable minorities only and............get my driffffffffft. That such loonies even get elected is beyond all logic. Cheers I think?

There are actually invisible minorities.

I'm not sure if this is what he means, but there are people who can pass as whites, but as much as 1 parent is non-white. I know people like that. They look totally white, or at least not outright like a non-white.

And then there's the danger of using (what we have here) the "dash" American designations. Whites are not minorities, but how about an Irish-American? Or German-American? Or Italian-American? Or Polish-American?

It's just a ploy to keep white people from using that to gain a foothold in the lucrative minority market.

Trooth

Whilst i am not a fan of quotas, if you are going to do it you should at least try and reflect your population (otherwise the quota members really are tokens). Hence it should be 51% restricted to female.
