Australian defence minister audio interview

Today the ABC (Australian broadcasting commision) interviewed our current defence minister Dr. Brendan Nelson and Joel Fitztgibbon who may be the new defence minister after the 24th of this month.

The interviewer asked the same questions of each in seperate interviews.

Subjects covered are Iraq, Afghanistan, Super Hornets and Australia's future military commitment.

These are quite long interviews but should give you the most up to date thinking from the right and left side of politics.

Dr. Brendan Nelson, current defence minister.

Joel Fitzgibbon, maybe new defence minister in two weeks time.

It would seem that a new Labour government would pull out of Iraq immeadiately before the task is completed which would leave someone else to pick up the role.
I think I also hear a hint of a reassesment of the JSF commitment but sometimes difficult to tell when dealing with "Poli speak".

I would be interested to read your comments.

Cheers.
