The Modern Conservative movement has been around as a mighy force for roughly 3 decades. I'd say the steam has to run out eventually, and I'd say that time is now, since we're seeing high levels of dissatisifcation with economic outcomes as well as the Iraq War (as well as foreign policy as a whole).

Also, Americans are a pretty isolationist group of people, truth be told. Since the "right" is so heavily vested in interventionism and free trade agreements, most people, over time, will grow to hate the "right."

I'm not sure that's a particularly American characteristic. Most countries don't favor getting involved in military expeditions in which there is no direct benefit for them. And as to free trade, it is easier to count the number of countries in the world that are free traders than the number of non-free traders that comprise perhaps 95% of the countries in the world.

This is very interesting, I'd love to see how America's right and left will be in the future.

If America is moving left will the standards of the American left be more European like anytime in the future?
