Just remember Sher-e-Punjab, i am behind you on your voice of concern over these dark matters. There are a few members here, who obviosly don't want people to speak up about this. As long as your actions are non-violent, i am with you.

I have seen the pictures and have heard the stories of the indian government performing a "silent" genocide against the sikhs.

Silent genocide?? may be you ought to look the population growth of Sikhs in independent India. Infact Sikhs are very well known for their poor boys to girl ratio, coz they kill girl foetsus these days, and you cant complain that as genocide, can you??

May I be educated on this 'silent genocide'?

Now , if one Kashmiri shoots himelf in the leg while pretending to be a 'lineration' joe, how come that there is no hue and cry from Amnesty International and Human watch on this 'silent' genocide? Or is it too silent that it only reaches the ear of those who wish to hear garbage?

I too heard that the Bush attacked Iraq because he wanted to 'steal' the great riches of the Arabs and make the Middle East as a new part of the USA! My air conditioner service man who is a Moslem told me that! And he was told by his Mullahman. Now, if I am to beleive taht when I have brains and also relatives in the US and elsewhere who I interact with, then I should have my head examined.

I am sure pople have got over the village gossiping at the chaupal syndrome. Talking for the sake of talking just to keep the noise level going and giving short shrift to logic and genuine facts.

Please note that our PM is a Sikh, our President is a Moslem and Punjab is being ruled by Sikhs with my own friend Amarinder, the mnaharaja of Patiala, as the Chief Minister. The majority of the Police are Sikhs too.

So, who is doing the genocide?

Shere, don't you have anything better to do than start these stupid topics? Believe me when I say there are a 1000 sikhs for ever fundo like yourself. I'm a sikh myself, living in NY. That figure of 250,000 dead sikhs is way to exagarated. The government is not to blame for what happened in the 80's. These RSS goons are in the same league as these Muslim fanatics. Whatever happened is the past, you need to move on. What do you think liberating Punjab will do? You really think Pakistan is going to be friendly with "Khalistan"? They will use you againt India the first chance they get, that is why THEY started this "Khalistan movement". They wanted to blead India with a thousand cuts. With people like you, it gives the Pakistanis an orgasm to see distress within India. Sikhs make up about 15% of Indian armed forces, even though we are just 2% of the population. I hope that tells you something. The overseas Sikh mullahs can call all the meetings they want, but that's just for show, it's not going to change anything in reality. The sacrifices of such great Sikh martyrs like Bhagat Singh will not go in vain, no matter how hard people like youself try.

Ziel,

I wonder if he knows who is Bhagat Singh.

The interesting part is that Shere may not even be a Sikh.

The reason is that he just does only 'cut and paste' and does not get into any debate.

Obviously, a person who has no idea of the Punjab would not like to reply, lest he is exposed as a man of a different religion and an a emigre from a country that is not too friendly with India!

There is enough 'evidence' on this Board to give credence to this belief!

Ziel,
Brig. Ray, sir, is right about that. Shere is no Sikh, he is a Pakistani troll/propaganda machine.
The people of (Indian) Punjab have rejected the idea of Khalistan, that is why the terrorism died down in Punjab. Only the Pakistanis try to keep the idea alive.

Pictures can be deceptive? My boy, you have alot to learn on this subject, the pictures below are evidence of the genocide...

And the population of sikhs has actually been in decline in Punjab because of the attrocities against sikhs. Many have fled the persecution.

And it has been dubed the "silent genocide" because the indian government (mostly military) has been dinying it. I could show you several reports and statements from news articles telling of the fate of many inocent sikhs.

The Khalsistan idea is still around although probably not as strong as in 1980's

If you want more infor, just google it...

Khalsa,

When did you go to Canada?

Because of religious persecution?

Or just to have a better life?

Sikhs are known to be amibitious and don't wish to stagnate. That is why Punjab that has no minerals and only agriculture still is amongst the most prosperous states of India. Take Jharkhand or Bihar, with everything, they are still just behind all.

Sure those pictures could have been when KPS Gill (a Sikh and the DG Punjab Police) rooted out the Khalistani Movement.

By the same token let us show pictures of the Jallianwalla Bagh Incident where the British massacred unarmed civilians and then state that the British are committing atrocites and show the pictures! After all, pictures dont lie as per you!

2% or the Indian population has two Infantry Regts (19 battalion each), a whole lot of Armoured squadrons and Artillery Regt and batteries and you say there is a 'silent genocide' and that too by the Army? Am I to understand these Sikhs in the Army are non Sikhs or that they are spunkless?

Am I to understand that the Akali Dal (Sikh religious party) and their leader Prakash Singh Badal and Capt Amirinider Singh and other Sikhs of the Congress led government are all non Sikhs? Am I to understand that the Punjab Govt always having a Sikh Chief Minister when there are Hindus and Moslems too in Punjab, are silent spectators to this so called 'genocide'? Especiall in view of the fact that Capt Amarinder Singh, the Chief MInister of Punjab stops the water going to Haryana even though the all powerful Sonia Gandhi objected to it because of the forthcoming election? If he can defy Sonia Gandhi whom none can defy and stay in politics, then are you suggesting that he would just sit pretty and allow a 'genocide'?

Come, come Khalsa, logic and facts should not be lost sight of in favour of propaganda and rumours and vilalge chaupal gossip.

You could also google all the religious websites of all religions and see how each one feels they are being shortchanged.

But to believe in totality such sites would mean that the brain is soft.

Rambo has said many things about Christianity. Will you believe all that, as a Sikh? If you do, you should convert. And Rambo will notch up another headhunt success! And yell 'Jesus Saves".

Thank heavesn I don't believe in structured religion. All I see is they (all religions) are only fanning structured hate and fanaticism.

Dear Brother, GurFateh

It is not just my concern, but the concern of the entire Sikh nation. It is not just the few members here, but Indian (Hindu) public in general that is in denial and wishes to silence the voice of the Sikhs. It has been the same since before India was invented by the British in 1947.

Since the occupation of the independent, sovereign nation of Punjab in 1849, Sikhs have been struggling hard to maintain our religion, identity and independence. From Arya Samaj expansion in the late 1800's to present day Hindustani political hegemony over India government and media we Sikhs have never been able to relax for even a moment.

These Hindus will do all they can to deny and hide the Sikh demands of justice and liberation, because these Hindus themselves support the Operation Bluestar, anti-Sikh riots, Operation Woodrose, Operation Black Thunder and all other military and organized killings of Sikhs in Punjab and outside our nation.

I suggest to you to get yourself a copy of the following books:

1) Fighting for Faith and Nation: Dialogues with Sikh Militants
2) A Sea of Orange
3) Ethinc Conflict in India: A Case study of Punjab

Discussing with Hindus is a waste of time that is why i do not take notice of these people ever since i registered on this forum. They are Hindus, nothing better can describe them as that. See Persian dictionary "Lughet-e-Kishwari' published in Lucknow (UP, Hindustan) for further explanation on meaning and origin of word "Hindu".

From Guru Hargobind Sahib came the Miri-Piri and Sant Sipahi philosophy of Sikhism. Since such time, it is the duty of Sikhs to wage peaceful agitation against injustice and oppression. Guru Gobind Singh advized the Sikhs that 'When all means of peaceful persuasion have failed, it is righteous to draw the sword'.

This the the Dharam Yudh - The righteous war. The Sikhs tried peaceful methods many times since 1947, but the Indians didnt want it. Rather, the used brute force on our people and our most sacred institutions. Since that time, peaceful methods were realized as futile when dealing with such dogs.

Militancy came to an end, but once more, the struggle is being reborn and waged peacefully. How long that peace last depends on the Indian government, not us.

Sikhs should be prepared to face the enemy in kind when the time will come once more no doubt.

The Punjab State Human Rights Commission has again observed that the number of custodial deaths is rising once more in Punjab, despite an end to active para-military violence. The World Bank report on Punjab also paints the gloomy picture in sharp and increasing rise of poverty. The largest number of illegals escaping come from Punjab. This is the opposite of what Hindi media likes to paint of Punjab as being most well developed state. This is, false and propaganda.

Rise in Hindi media in Punjab further adds to the blindness of the massess. Funnily enough, there is a distinct difference between Punjabi media with Hindi and English media in Punjab. The tone, style, importance of news items, is fundamentally different. Which do you trust? A media and people who tarnish Sikhs as "Hindus", calll shaheeds as terrorists, deny genocide of Sikhs etc etc or do you trust native, indigenous Punjabi media?

The state genocide of a minority religious community which advocates its rights and independence may be a "stupid topic" to you, but not to any Sikh or person who believes in justice, truth and human rights and dignity.

I suggest before you label Sikh demands as started by "Pakistan" or any other outsider you at least make some attempts to research on Punjab's socio-political history from 1849 onwards.

Hmm, why did you stop there. There are many more hate sites in the internet, keep posting them like Shere here.

Isnt that why UK said they are going to stop processing asylum applications from Indian Sikhs?? May be tell that to the Sikhs who go to UK as a part of cultural exchange team, sports meet and then apply asylum. They go to west not coz of persucution but to earn a livelihood.

India is not a communist state/military ruled state. The military is directly under the control of the Federal Govt. Members for the federal govt are elected by the people in the states.

I can show you many more reports that shows the fate of innocent Punjabis bombed/killed by militants.

Khalistan is still around the wet dreams of some radical orgs in UK/Canada...its a better way to make money, overseas people are always sympathetic to "unknown" causes.

Well, I dont need to. Coz I grew up when they had the insurgency in Punjab. Thats your problem, you dont know the ground reality while we grew up there.

Shere, don't think that every sikh wants an independent punjab. Human rights and dignity? First take care of the internal problems that punjab has than talk about human rights with me. The upper class jatts treat minority dalits as not even human. You probably heard the latest news coming out of punjab, a few young men were kidnapped by the upper class "jatts" and were beaten up real badly and made to drink urine. Firstly sir fix the human rights issues in punjab then talk about all the dignity stuff. That's just one of the thousands violations of human rights in punjab.

If you are so much interested in history, I suggest to read up on what the muslims did to the sikh gurus, but ofcourse since you are so much in love with the pakistans you woudn't dare say anything bad about them. Even today whenever arms are seized they are always traced back to Pakistan....the investigations are done by the punjab government....not by the Indian governemt if that makes any difference to you.

Sikhs are fine the way they are. No one is complaining except people like yourself who live outside India and make assumptions that Sikhs are treated a certain way. If you have any doubts that I'm a Sikh than you are living in a delutional world.
