Slavery's been around for all history, and the black slave trade was begun by Arabs (where it continues to this day in nations such as Mauretania, Sudan, and even Saudi Arabia!) When the Europeans entered the slave trade, they were sold blacks from the interior by coastal blacks.

I've read it. Most of it is badly written, and their are sections in which he goes against his own logic. One thing that is clear from reading the book is that Moore isn't really a democrat, he hammers the democrats quite a bit. The only reason he's currently supporting the democrats is to fight the republicans.

so moore has never worked under a black man, dated a black woman, never rented from a black man, went to a prepy white school that didnt hire black teachers, never went to a rap concert, or any other concert that draws a large young black crowd, didnt go to dealerships that hired black salesmen, never bought a car off a black man, never applied for a loan where the manager was black, ect. ect. ect.

sounds like he was really just avoiding black people to me.
