Musharraf is Pakistan’s most popular leader

http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default...-5-2006_pg7_55

Quote:
LAHORE: President General Pervez Musharraf is Pakistan’s most popular leader and the reason behind his popularity is honesty, Federal Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani told Geo television programme Capital Talk on Tuesday.

“Whenever the president’s popularity diminishes, he honestly admits it and that is why he is the most popular leader,” said Durrani. The next general elections will prove Musharraf’s popularity, he said, adding that the president’s policies had provided “unprecedented liberty and prosperity” to the Pakistani people.

The minister said the government was ready to negotiate with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) - the way the parties wanted to negotiate. daily times monitor

Well ofcourse his minister would say that. And it is easy to be the tallest leader when you are a military dictator.

Asim, what's the point of this thread? Are we supposed to sing praises for Musharraf?

Everyone loves and adores his boss at least in front of him!

And everyone loves jokes!

Lahori, I understand your frustration. But this topic isn't about bait threads. What is a WAB member supposed to discuss if Musharraf's minister call's him an excellent leader? This topic dowesn't propagate any type of debate.

Also, could you please post in the International Politics topic in the Benazir Bhutto-Pakistan Army thread. Thanks!

Erm if you'd follow Pakistani politics closely, his re-election is coming up!

If you follow Pakistani politics (and have brains), it's not a reelection. He was never elected in the first place. He is and still remains a military dictator.

Paa Jee,
Even the non SA members know what the purpose is of all these anti Pakistan threads which hardly qualify to be news or worth a good debate.

You could have never have voted for him in an election. Musharraf has never contested in an election. So there cannot be a Musharraf re-election.
