If Aziz heads the PML-Q, they have my support.
Can they get an overall majority in next elections?

I don't believe in coalitions in national politics, never did!

Azzi will be off to a better paid job with Google!

He has been to the US and he knows the value of the greenback!

He believes in nothing exists on love and fresh air!

Or so I am told!

In fact Musharraf has got cold feet. He has summoned the PML leaders for a pep talk to stop the infighting! (Check thread)

Back Shujaat, Musharraf tells disgruntled leaders

* Asks PML leaders to be prepared for general elections
* Not conspiring against anyone: Chattha, Wattoo
* Musharraf meets PML Sindh today

By Shahzad Raza

ISLAMABAD: No Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leader can operate against PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain because he has the president’s full confidence to lead the party, sources quoted President General Pervez Musharraf as telling PML vice presidents on Thursday.

Sources told Daily Times that Musharraf directed PML vice presidents Ejazul Haq, Hamid Nasir Chattha and Manzoor Wattoo – who reportedly oppose the top leadership’s policies - to empower Shujaat instead of “weakening him by holding meetings against him”. The leaders pledged to obey his order. Chattha, Wattoo, Haq, Majeed Malik, Kabir Wasti, Azeem Chaudhry and Iqbal Dar said they opposed Shujaat’s policies in two recent meetings. They also said the PML was not being run according to the Constitution.

Sources said Musharraf had been upset over reports of tension in PML ranks. He asked PML leaders to set aside their differences and prepare for the next general elections.

The vice presidents told the president that the PML’s top leadership was running the party without consulting senior leaders. “Decisions are not being taken on the party platform, the Central Working Committee has not met for a long time and top leaders have failed to summon parliamentary party meetings regularly,” they complained. After meeting the president, Chattha and Wattoo said that they were not conspiring against Shujaat by holding meetings. Future CWC meetings might discuss the issue of the president’s uniform and make a unanimous decision, he said. “Elahi’s statement favouring the president’s uniform is his opinion,” he said.

He said the PML would try to evolve a consensus on one candidate for the office of the PML president. “Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz are not being considered as candidates,” he stressed.

Online adds: President Musharraf has called a meeting of the Sindh Muslim League today (Friday) at 11am at the Aiwan-i-Sadr to discuss political affairs of the province.

Chaudhry Shujaat will also be present at the meeting.

Musharraf ‘too busy’ to meet forward blocs

ISLAMABAD: Musharraf was “quite tied up in a hectic schedule”, making it impossible for him to meet the dissident blocs of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League and the MQM. PML forward bloc members Allah Yar Khan, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Akhtar Kanjo, Mazhar Qureshi and Farooq Mir were turned back when they approached presidential officials to get a time for the meeting. Disgruntled MQM members also met a similar fate. online

Shujaat rejects dissidents’ accusations

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain rejected allegations leveled against him by dissident PML leaders, saying, “they are making a storm in the tea cup.”

Anyone who wants to become the PML president should simply come ahead and contest the intra-party elections, Shujaat told Geo television programme Aaj Kamran Khan kay sath. He added that he was in good health.

Earlier, former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali said Shujaat was running the party individually “and according to his own likes and dislikes”. All PML factions allied with Shujaat sincerely but he does not give them any importance, said Jamali. Shujaat is running the party with nominations, which is against democracy, he added. “The PML needs to sacrifice Shujaat to avoid any internal turmoil.

That is what make a politician great.

Appear intelligible but appear profound!

I saw that.

He has practically called Musharraf an Indian stooge.

However, I did not find it very convincing.
