Bush’s Pak visit a ‘failure’, LeT raises jihad pitch

Bush’s Pak visit a ‘failure’, LeT raises jihad pitch
Sunday March 12 2006 12:18 IST

SRINAGAR: Lashkar-e-Toiba idealogue Hafiz Muhammad Sayeed has said the high-profile visit of the US President to Pakistan has strengthened their call for jihad. “Bush visit has failed, undermining the pro-US lobby in the country. But Mujahideens are happy. Time is ripe now for jihad,” he says.

In a report published in Guzva — a magazine published by Jamat-ud-Dawa, the parent organisation of the Lashkar — Sayeed said Bush’s visit has brought in the open the expedience of the US engagement with Islamabad and made it difficult for Pak rulers to sustain their US-friendly policies. “After 9/11, Pakistan made a U-turn in its foreign policy to accommodate American interests. It was said that backing US would help solve Kashmir and protect its nuclear programme. But none of this has materialised.”

“As was underlined by Bush’s visit, he had merely come to check Musharraf’s commitment on war on terror, rather than address Pakistan’s grievances. But we are happy. The situation is now more conducive for jihad.”

In fact, the website of Jamat-ud-Dawa also published the Friday sermon at the Alqadsia Grand Mosque in Chobarbee, Lahore where he acknowledges a “huge setback” delivered by Bush visit to the ‘‘Kashmir cause”. “Bush’s visit has dealt a severe blow to the Kashmir issue. Now there is strong pressure building up for the shutdown of Kashmiri jihad,” Sayeed told the congregation.

Dawa also terms the nuclear deal between India and US as a threat not only to China but also to Pakistan. “Conspiracies are being hatched against Pakistan’s atomic programme,” he said. “This is tragic. President Abdul Kalam who helped make India a nuclear power sits across to discuss matters with Bush, while father of Pakistan’s atomic programme Abdul Qadir Khan is rotting in a jail cell.” “It is better, our rulers give up their anti-jihad policies and re-orient the foreign policy of Pakistan according to tenets of Islam,” an editorial on the Dawa website said.

Red Corner notice

SRINAGAR: The Union Home Ministry has stepped up its efforts to secure an Interpol Red Corner notice for the militant idealogues based in Pakistan and Hafiz Mohammad Sayeed tops the list. In fact, Jammu and Kashmir Police has been asked to prepare dossiers on the leaders that also include Hizbul chief Syed Salahuddin, Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar and Al-Umar chief Mustaq Latrum besides several other commanders.

Muslim world should unite and stand strictly on Islam. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed

(Lahore) 4 March 2006. Amir Jamat ud Dawa Pakistan professor Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that US-India contacts are not only against China but also a warning alarm for Pakistan too. Indian President Abdul Kalam who turned India to an Atomic Power is meeting face to face sitting with the Bush. While we have put our hero Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan in Jail. Muslims will have to fight in all four directions. Muslim countries should design their strategy according to Quran and Seerah Rasool (Sallalaho Alaih e Wasalam). In this cartoon issue Muslims rulers are defending west. Government is trying to show it liberal by arresting political and religious leaders.

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has said this in his Friday sermon at Qadsia Mosque Lahore. He said that National Majlis Mushawarat is a not political alliance. It is not formed for political motives. Governemnet should try not to make it a political issue.

We will continue Tahreek Tahaffuz Hurmat e Rasul (Sallalaho Alaihe Wasalam). We will go door to door to wake up to people and tell them about the Seerat of Prophet Muhammad (Sallalaho Alaihi Wasallam).

Muslim countries should unite and stand on our own sources and save our strength and power to tackle the enemy. This is not the time of doing the politics separately. We can save our countries only by saving Islam.

He said that problems are increasing day by day for Muslims. They are surrounded all the four sides. The reason for wars in past was geographic and regional. Today situation have become very dangerous. Non Believers have tried to initiate the religious war by these cartoons. They are united and making joint contracts against Muslims.

Now it is the time for Muslims not to just discuss on the situations. Instead they should design their policies according to Quran-o-Sunnah.

He said that Islamabad is worried because of India US contract. They are worried only because their political strategy is not designed according to Islam. However they should not worry, If Muslims become united on Islam then Allah will never leave alone. They is the decision of Quran that can not be false.

Hafiz Muhammad Saeed Said that Muslims rulers should understand the realities and do not deceive again and again. To base on non believers is stupidity. They were united against Muslims on yesterday and today too. It is the time for Muslims countries unity seriously. The circles of fight are becoming wide. To bow their heads are not the solution of problems. They should stand strictly on Islam. Quran o Sunnah should be implemented in Pakistan. He said that Muslims living under the non believers rule is disliked by Allah. While deciding in problems rulers should keep in mind the honor of Islam.

We have influence over Kashmiri militants: Pak

Press Trust of India
Posted online: Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 1531 hours IST

Islamabad, March 11: Claiming that it does not command the militant groups active in Kashmir, Pakistan has said that it has ‘influence’ over them which it would like to use to bring down violence.

“Pakistan does have influence (over the militant groups) but we do not command them. Pakistan has influence because it has been advocating and highlighting the Kashmir issue,” Foreign Minister Khurshid M Kasuri said on Friday night at a dinner he hosted in the honour of the delegates attending the Kashmir Conference.

“When we say we have influence it does not mean that we have control, of course we do not have any control but we do have influence,” he said adding that Pakistan would like to use its ‘influence’ to bring down violence.

“Pakistan is interested in bringing down the level of violence because we feel that will definitely facilitate resolution of (the issue of) Jammu and Kashmir. For durable peace we need to resolve the Kashmir issue,” he said.

Kasuri was responding to CPM leader from Jammu and Kashmir Muhammad Yousuf Taragami’s remarks that Pakistan should help bring down violence in the Kashmir Valley by using its influence over the militant groups.

At the dinner, attended by 50 delegates who took part in the conference organised by the US-based NGO ‘Pugwash’, Taragami also said that India and Pakistan should facilitate the return of scores of Kashmiri youth who have crossed into Pakistan.

Taragami also said that India and Pakistan should consider creation of peace zones in the Kashmir region by withdrawing security forces.

In his response, Kasuri said Pakistan wanted demilitarisation to raise the ‘comfort level’ of people of Kashmir, which in turn would enable President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to carry forward their efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue.

He said withdrawal of troops is also a ‘great CBM’ and Pakistan too is prepared to pull out its security forces from the areas under its control.

Besides several Kashmiri leaders from both sides of LoC and representatives of think-tanks, those who attended the dinner included Indian High Commissioner Shivshankar Menon and Pakistan Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan.

Let us all sing "He is a jolly good fellow" for Hafiz Muhammad Saeed.

Or is the song for them, "He is a jolly good buffalo"?

I think he is a real cute little Mullah boy-man, cuter than the camel he thinks is his Mercedes Benz!
