The Air Force almost had to call GSG-9 to blast me outta my quarters.

When I first got my orders, I was stationed in Japan, and I asked my best friend what he liked most about Germany. He said 'Germans. And it's also what I liked LEAST, too.'

And then he said, 'When I left, I bawled like a baby. You will too.'

He was right. I miss it every single day, and if somebody could promise that Heaven is like Bavaria, I'd be in Bible study tonight, choir paractice tomorrow, and the front row pews on Sunday.

THAT is how great it was.

I've talked with probably half a dozen ex-military guys that were stationed in Germany. Never once heard them say "I wish I'd never gone there" etc.
Two of them brought back Cold War brides

I was in Antigua as well - no pictures scanned though. Here are some of Lake Atitlan...before the last hurricane this past summer. This is how I will always remember it.

All my photos of Antigua are slides so I can't post them but it was just the most beautiful city. They had the 'walking of the carpets' while I was there. Wow. And dinner in a ruined Monastery with fantastic food. If I was on my own and could live anywhere in the world it would be in Guatemala.

We spent two days there, enjoyed dawn on the top of the 'lost world', just an awesome place. Bit hard on the thigh muscles though

Here are some of Poas Volcano in Costa Rica. This was pretty as well, but Tikal will always be my favorite place I have vistited out of the US (not that I have spent much time out of the US)

I have a few pictures of an old monastery there - maybe the same one. I don't have them scanned though.

I've been trying to find photos of where I grew up, the Mackenzie country in the middle of the South Island but it's reaally hard to do, not because there aren't any, there's just so much. I'll try to limit myself to 5.
