My most sincere apologies.

I misunderstood your comment to refer to gun safety and artillery procedure. I see now I was badly mistaken.

I had no idea of the proper etiquette when "interacting" with museum - actually memorial - pieces. Even now I am unsure.

At Cantigy, the tanks, armored vehicles and artillery pieces are set out with the intent of visitors (particularly small children...and me) clambering on board to see what it's like to "ride" a mighty Pershing or Patton like our forefathers did.
There are of course signs warning of the sharp edges and the need for safety while climbing onto the various pieces.
In retrospect, I don't know if this honors the displays or disrespects them.

As for your comment about the two of us being idiotic....well, if you would have seen us 7 years ago, you probably would have demoted us to just plain foolish.

As it is now, we're two adults who are rediscovering each other after a somewhat messy situation when we were kids, comparatively speaking.
I agree that we're still acting like two kids enjoying a high school crush, but I really don't mind the teasing and good-natured ribbing we've endured on the board. I knew it would happen when I posted that first thread, though I didnt know she'd be along for the ride.

So then, TopHat, you don't think it would be appropriate or appreciated if I posted the rest of the private collection pictures from the Beach at Normandy display at Cantigny...Ya' know...the real action pics? The ones taken behind the tanks. *sigh* Those were my favorites...

Before I get my dear TopHat in any more trouble...
KIDDING!!

I am pretty sure he would have just slugged us both back then (rightfully so) and told us to open our eyes and look around.

I am just glad that we are both good sports and can take, as well as give out, the harrassment. I can name quite few people in my life who would have never put up with, let alone joined in, these public displays of fun.

Yeah, "blind as a bat" pretty much describes it

I used to despise being teased by anybody
Nowadays, I don't mind it at all coming from friends and family and it's a lot of fun

- Look at the watch and see that my lady is 20 mins late.
- I see her arriving and hold the rose behind by back (to surprise her) and when she arrives I bring my hand out the rose and give it to her. But I let go of the rose before she can hold it and it flies off in the wind, on the road only to be run over by a car....I felt like a complete idiot.

Yeah, TopHat...Don't be such a wimp. Tell her like it is - Get your woman in check, TH. Really show her who's running the show. Don't give the pants up, man, you'll never get them back.

Hehe gotta love stereotypes. Now to complete that, how about one with TH in a stained wife-beater with a tooth pick in his mouth and bear bottle in his hand.

Oh dear God....I almost swallowed my teeth when I first glimpsed that picture.

Nice wife-beater....but it looks better when the female is wearing it

As far as the limited - let me say that again: l i m i t e d - number of pictures that I have of my darling THL, I'm not tempted at all to post them on here.
Not really afraid of what she might do to me...though I really don't need the hospital time right now....
I'm just really loathe to cave into peer pressure and heckling from my comrades on the board.

Alright, since this photo thing seems to be a bigger deal than I am ever going to understand...when I go to FL to visit my dear, sweet TopHatter in October, I will make sure we get pictures together and I will even post them. That way, TH does not have to give into peer pressure nor does he have to live out the rest of his days getting heckled about being whipped by some faceless girl from back home.
