Jay, get the vaccines quick.

The native breeds rarely fall sick and the only ones that fell ill died because of this virus.Think its quite a recent thing because my dad never had pets or cattle or anything die like that before.

I googled for Parvo.Apparently there are vaccines available. Not sure if they're sold in India. Will remember that next time I get a puppy.Wait, I wont be getting another for quite some time.
They vaccinate them here for Parvo when they are puppies but he was the runt so that also could have played a part in it. Don't let it deter you from another dog. The breeder I had gotten him from replaced him with a litter mate - turned out to be Satan's little spawn, that one. He lives with a signle guy that resides in the next complex over now - that guy thinks he is the best thing...mental, I say.

Parvo virus is EXTREMELY contagious. We removed nearly everything from my house after Jinxie died, shampooed all the carpets, cleaned all the sheets, furniture, everything he came in contact with (since he was only there a few days, this was not as bad as it could have been). Cleaned anything we could (floors, etc) with bleach...including the cement walkway outside where he had walked. Parvo is a very hearty virus. Older dogs can get it, but can usually get through it. Puppies are not as strong and will usually die from it. I would think your vet could get the vaccine for it. If not, it is most like available online. I know we can purchase it online here from Canada but to buy it from within the US one has to be a Vet.

Jinxie would have been a good dog, too. Here is Kenzie with him from Oct 2004. I did use the second photo as a guide to teach her how we do NOT hold puppies. The last one is the littermate, Kipper, that we had.

I told my dad what you've written here....and he dropped plans for getting a couple of puppies next week. We've decided to wait for atleast a month. But for this Parvo I could have hosted Hammer's Rommel in my place for a fortnight.

In the meantime, while my dogs have been dying one after another my friends dog has been putting on weight like anything.

Meet Bruney.
He's only 6-9 months old and weights only a few grams more than 30 kilos. (66 pounds) We've suggested that he take his dog for long walks or buy him a treadmill.

Here is a picture of the mean, viscious cat that TopHatter insists glares at him whenever he visits. Take note that this mean, viscious cat is all snuggled up on my daughters pink princess bed comforter with her dolls blankets and a stuffed pink animal (which I think may also be a cat).
