One more thing, income does not equate wealth.

Bill Gates' salary is less than $1 million a year, but he has $50+ billion of wealth.

Lee Iacocca's first year at Chrysler got him a grand total of $1. He wasn't poor though.

I can take a lumpsum payment of $50 million from winning the Lotto and retire. I will have no income during the following tax year. Am I poor?

Now, THIS line is ABSOLUTELY TRUE: SCHIP, as conceived and implemented as Democrats want to do, is designed as a takeover of the Health care / insurance system of the entire United States middle class. Because they KNOW, absolutely KNOW, that once it's enacted and that vast majority become addicted to yet another 'entitlement', it'll never go away.

And the whole point of Harry Reid exploiting 12-year old children that have been injured will have been achieved.

So, I'll spot you a point for THAT line. But I take away ten because it backs up MY point.

I could quit here, but I won't.

They dam' well should've thought of that before they pimped out their injured kids to a bunch of sleazy pols trying to use them.

After giving a few interviews, Halsey and Bonnie Frost now say they don't want to say anything more, though network camera crews have planted themselves in front of their house.
I'll just BET they don't want to talk anymore. Especially on the record.

Quote:
Halsey did have this to say in an e-mail to me:

"My son Graeme has helped put on a human face, that of a young boy, representing the needs of children and families across this nation. We are a hard working family that has stepped forward to support SCHIP. Mudslinging from the fringe has now been directed at the messenger. To be smeared all over the Internet and receive nasty e-mail — my family does not deserve this retribution. It is both shameful and pathetic.

"Driven by a most dubious agenda, shortsighted cut-and-paste bloggers, lacking all the facts, have made a feeble attempt at being crack reporters. This is an aberrant attempt to distract the American people from what the real issues are. Hard working American families need affordable health insurance.

"I find it morally reprehensible, and the act of a true coward, to publicly (world wide) smear a man and his family and not sign one's own real name to what they have written. I sign my name to what I write.

-Halsey Frost"
Cry me a river, Frost. I'm sympathetic to his kids: they were hurt, they were tricked, they were used. And their parents, lefties and borderline socialists, thought this would be some kind of cost-free entry into the political fray. Well, when you mis-represent yourselves and your family, and FINALLY there are alternative media sources that won't simply write up the Democratic national Committee's talking points, but will actually INVESTIGATE the REALITY...what do you THINK is going to happen?

No lies have been told abour Frost and his family; no smearing occurred. He inserted his kids into the political argument, trying for an emotional innoculation against a reasoned, rational argument against what he's for and now he's SURPRISED that he's under scrutiny?

Tough, Mr. Frost. Grow a pair, start providing for your family like a REAL man, and quit hiding behind your injured children.

Hand down, Julie; you've already been counted.

A dam' good point, and it bears on another fact the lefties want us to forget about: this family's OTHER members are NOT indigent, nor even 'working poor'. They're leaders in their fields, executives, and liesured retirees.

If MY dad was a wealthy man, and his grandkids were in need of anything, do you think I'd have MY hand out for the public dole? He'd NEVER allow it while he was alive (he's not; this is a hypothetical), and we wouldn't do without, either: he'd BE there for us.

The Frosts have money in their extended family; where are THEY when the kids needed the help?

You have convinced me you are on crack. $452.00 a month health insurance for 6 people? What does that cover, just doctor visits? Full coverage health care, including hospitalization, runs approximately $200-$250.00 per person.

Not true. I lost my job and now have to buy my own insurance. I did some research and found Blueshield PPO that costs me $165 a month. It includes hospitalization and no deductible. I pay 40% of all costs. This cost includes dental.

There are many very affordable health care plans out there. You just have to do some research.

You can save even more money by buying HMO and go to the participating doctors instead of pick your own doctors.

Family plan actually comes out cheaper per person than what I pay due to less overhead.

WELL? Waiting for you to step in it AGAIN. Go right ahead.

And as for that figure: do you think I made it up? It's DOCUMENTED. It was researched (and not by experts; they just verified that it was true) by ordinary people that knew there was some stink on Frost's story. And THEY, unlike the lazy mofos that the so-called 'news' outlets hire to regurgitate Democratic Party press releases, actually looked into Frost's claims (or, more accurately stated, the claims of Deomcratic Senate staffers that wrote young Graeme's speech that he obligingly read on that disgustingly-dishonest political ad), and found out they were CRAP.

Keep punchin'; this is actually BETTER than having you on 'Ignore'.

I have the perfect universal health care solution for this country.

We all know democrats are warm, passionate, loving human beings who genuinely care about the poor and downtrodden. They desperately want to provide decent health care for their fellow human beings, only to get shot down by the evil republicans who hate poor people.

I think the loving and caring democrats should take the bull by the horn. The democrats should offer universal health care. But they should keep it only to those who share their belief. Don't offer this benefit to those evil republicans.

The DNC should offer all its members free health care coverage.

Everyone in the democratic party can sign up for the Democrat Healthcare Program. The program is free. The cost will be covered by corporate sponsorship, private donations big and small, and physicians who care about people.

Imagine if the campaign contribution to Hillary, Obama, the donation to Moveon.org can all be pooled into a trust fund to pay for a Democratic Universal Healthcare Program. That's easily $100 million.

If that's not enough, the DNC can charge a small membership due like the union due for their members. I'm sure no one will object a small fee for such a noble cause. And we can even make the due a progressive one. Working families will pay very little while the rich will pay more. I'm sure they won't miss a few percent of their income.

This program will be the envy of all non-democrats. Imagine the look on those stupid republicans' faces when they find out democrats get free health care from their party. And think about the new voters this program will attract. People will trample over each other to join the democratic party.

What do you guys think?

Man...this idea is so good I think it deserves its own thread...

$165.00 for one person...that will not cover a family of 4-6. That is also not a good plan for children and 40% is too high. 20% is standard which will create a higher premium. Children frequent the doctor more than adults with colds, bronchitis, and pneumonia contracted from school.

So, you DO believe the figure is made up, then?

It isn't.

On the contrary, it is a health plan premium for a single person, which may be suitable to gunnut in his circumstances. It would be a bad family health plan, especially for children, as I pointed out.

I can't argue "exact" circumstances because I do not know what theirs are. If there are any pre-existing conditions, if either are smokers, etc., etc., which would effect the premium. Deductible choices make a difference too.
