Cyclone George and the 'Selkirk Settler'
Last week the huge cat 4 cyclone [ George] swept down the Western Australian coast.

Seas like that weigh hundreds of tons. It is easy to dismiss it as just water, but during the war such seas sweeping the decks could bend gun barrels and crush railings.
That ship is an iron ore carrier too and was fully loaded and on her way north. Hard to believe that an iron ship full of iron ore can float at all let alone in seas like that mate. |
