hmm... whats the import duty on these cars in Pakistan???... over here it's too wack... a Hummer, which is around 35 Lakhs costs you about 70-75 Lakh just because of the stupid custom duty... I think it's around 105% custom duty on imported cars here... There is only one way to get around that and it is if you own an Import-Export business and are able to meet some benchmarks, only then does the government lower the custom duty and that too only on cars which are worth more than $40k...

400% on brand new high end cars.

on used cars it varies, custom prices were slashed down quite a bit in recent days. You can import <2yr old cars only, though.

This is what i could findabt import duties in pakistan

"In the last budget, the government had cut down duty by almost 25 percent for all categories. The cars up to 1000CC to 1500CC are liable to 50 percent duty, 1501CC and 1800CC, 65 percent and 75 percent on more than 1800CC cars/jeeps."

I think those are second hand cars, the government cut duties to increase competition and force local companies to drop prices of cars assembled in Pakistan.

High end cars are at least 100% and maybe as high as 400%. My uncle wanted to import a Land Cruiser Prado last year and the duty was nearly as much as the price of the car. And this was a second hand Prado from Dubai

Anyways, here's another pic. A Ferrari 430, BMW 7 series and Toyota Landcruiser:

And can someone else contribute as well please

yea, over here an Audi A8 costs us around 80 Lakhs total where else the price of the car is 40 Lakhs!!! So I could buy a same class Merc for almost half the price of the Audi... so unless Audi opens up a plant here, the prices are going to be double which really sucks because when you first buy the car, it feels so good for the first few days but then you slowly realize you could've just bought 2 S-Class Mercs!!!
