Enormous Yamato model
Ever heard of a 1/10 scale model of a ship that was some 860 ft to begin with?
Apparently this is a museum dedicated to HIJMS Yamato in the city of Kure, where she was built. I think I just found the next vacation destination for THL and myself A huge amount of extremely detailed pictures can be found at this link You can read more abou the Yamato Museum itself at the official site here

I admit to it being my idea to visit the U-505 and I am getting a pass I think to be able to visit Cantigny Park whenever I want (it is only 15 minutes from my house and 5 from my work) - this is something that I guess I would not mind seeing if I ever happen to be in Japan. (Though Pearl Habor is on my list of things to do before this pretend "model of a boat.)
