Thats our driver "dineshan".

Its basically a hut from where the farmers keep a watch on the elephants coming for their crops.They carry drums and steel plates with which they scare away the elephants.
Its only the "othayan" that they are scared of. Othayan is basically the male elephant who gets knocked out of a herd.This single male roams around the forest with hurst and insult in his mind and takes it out on anything that comes his way.

Well that's useful
I used to do the screenings for the Indian Film Society in Dunedin, he looks a lot like the guy who was club secretary for that, but I guess not.
