Those are wild indian dogs & its an endangered species. Rudyard Kipling wrote this fiction & was based on a forest of Madhya Pradesh in central India. However its said that it did happen & is not just fiction.

I know, Dhole, Asiatic wild dog or Red dog - Cyon alpinus. It was my favorite book when I was a kid. But I’m not sure that there are wolves in India, there are few different distribution maps...

There are many wild life sancturies all over the India. Lions in Gir[Gujarat state], rhinos in Kaziranga[Assam], Tiger in Corbet[HP, Rajasthan & MP], Elephants in all parts, snow leaperds in Ladhak[J&K] Leaperds again all India etc.

I know, I know… I was interested in biology blah blah when I was a kid... before I switched to weapons in my 3rd grade. Bars, Snow leopard is my favorite.

I live in Mumbai & here it doesnt get below 15 Celsius in winters & i havent gone to that part of the country. I guess parihaka has some good pics of Southern Alps.

Let me rephrase my sentence - I wanted to see if anybody here (from India) has some pictures taken on Himalayas. But Southern Alps would be fine, too.
