As an ex RCR I am impressed with the fighting spirit of my old Regiment yet it would seem the same stupid un-informed Officer core(at the command level at least)is still prone to bone-headed tactical moves. As far as I am concerned Fraser or Haig, they are both of the same cloth so pick your poison. Both had a vision only it was one of grandiose self importance, casualties be damned. The real story here is the ability of the Canadians to disengage with as few casualties as they did. Happily many Taliban died that day but the loss of a fine rifle company mainly because of higher interference is a piss off.
