German cars are the best, but there are some american cars that compare favorably to a lot of the best German machines(Caddy XLR, Vette ZO6, etc), and don't get me started on Japanese cars. Once upon a time(like 1981) they held a huge edge in quality over US vehicles. That edge has LONG SINCE vanished.

    3. POTENTIAL INSTALLATION OF BRAHMOS ON IL-38 IN THE NEXT UPGRADE!!!

if this happens India will get an aircraft which would target and attack autonomously at the distance of 320km.... currently it has Sea Eagle which can hit targets at 250km+ and has speed of slightly less than 1M.

Besides that Brahmos is planned for installation on Tu-142 which India uses for naval reconnaisance.... This can do much more!

Indeed Brahmos would expand Indian defense by 500km from its shores!
Well to be fair India has a preferrence towards Russian equipment in general because their already familure with it and its also generally cheaper. Alot of the equipment is interoperable with other Russian stuff they've bought as well. I think India's long term goal is to make their own gear though.

A FORMER British military official has backed a sensational claim that the Russian nuclear submarine, the Kursk, was torpedoed by US forces in August 2000.

    http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...5E2703,00.html

What is also curious is that billions of dollars of loans were cancelled that same week by Bill Clinton.

Quick, I read something on the internet so it must be true.

According to the internet, Mossad flew the jets into the World Trade Center to get America involved with war on terror. How do you explain the fact that all Jews working in WTC were evacuated ahead of time?

Sometimes we really need to think about what's possible and what's complete and utter made-up crap.

The Kursk was salvaged. The damage was from inside-out. Unless Americans have a torpedo that can bore inside a sub and then blow up, it's unlikely that we hit it with a torpedo.

Sure, there are rumors of a collision with an American sub. Sure, some questioned the untimely evacuation of an American sub from the Russian exercise area. But then you have to look at the damage.

Kursk was a massive sub (double hull? titanium? not sure). The LA class was about half the size. The damage to the Kursk was at the bow, probably the hardest place on a sub. How is it that the Kursk suffered catastrophic damage colliding with an American sub half its size, and the American sub can escape to Norway while the Russian sub sunk?

The cause of the explosion was a torpedo motor malfunction that resulted in a massive secondary explosion of the warheads in the torpedo room.

Somehow I doubt a single Mk48 can cause enough damage to sink a sub of Kursk's size.

    Japanese cars rule.

But doesn't it makes good rational to pay for upgrade of Tu-142 and IL-38 which can carry Brahmos and have one the world best reconnaisance equippement against leasing few old Orions for the same money? Well may be upgraded... I have little knowledge to what point was those offered Orions upgraded....

The eight Tu-142 and five IL-38 armed with few Brahmos each would make a formidable force which can engage Naval treats to India around 500-1000km away from the Indian shores..... Any force except for US carrier battle groups would be definitellly detered by this. I don't see how three Orions can ballance that.
