Fleet Week Fort Lauderdale April 25-30, 2012

Caught one of the big ships coming in this morning on web cam into Port Everglades. Not sure which ship it is. There was a small fleet of tugs assisting her in the 180 degree spin in the turning basin and docking. Grabbed these off my iPhone while driving home.

That would be the USS Wasp (LHD-1).

USS San Jacinto (CG-56). I did a Med cruise with that ship back in '89.

VERY COOL! Bet you're glad to see she's still around.

The other CG behind her docked before the USS Wasp>>> (THANKS for ID'ing WASP).

I should rephrase that... San Jacinto was part of our battle group in 89 so we shared the same waters, but I was not actually on board her. It is good to see she is still around though. Thanks for sharing the pix.

That 688-class submarine pulling in is USS Dallas (SSN-700) and the other CG is USS Gettysburg (CG-64)

Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Abusing Yellow is meant to be a labor of love, not something you sell to the highest bidder.
