I started life designed to make use of Poseidon's newest weapon, but I am most definitely not a submarine. You are on the right track but no its not HMS Argus, she too was a evolution. This ship is a true first.

Nope

The French ship Foudre (western not Asian) was built as a torpedo boat tender (Poseidon's newest weapon, not a submarine), then after the invention of the sea plane in 1910 she was converted to a sea plane carrier in 1911 as the first vessel is history to carry heavier than air aircraft (chase apollo across the sky, changed the word more than HMS dreadnought) of any type.

nope, was referring to "modern" battle ships, not sail powered ships of the line.

If you are thinking of the Arizona, that would be wrong as she has been taken over by the National Parks Service and no longer in commission as a US Navy ship. However, Navy memorials are still held over her as if she was still in commission which leads to the confusion.
