A wild guess! The rudder of the Bismarck being stuck as the result of a torpedeo strike by a Swordfish?

No. I was thinking of the French Battleship Jean Bart at the Battle of Casablanca where a 16" AP shell from the Massachusettes plowed down through all her decks and cracked the stern casting. The shell's explosive did not detonate because we had a problem with base fuses unscrewing themselves half way in flight.

If the Jean Bart was in open water, counterflooding up forward could have prevented further damage. But being pierside she hit bottom and her own weight broke the rest of the casting off.

Anyway, that question is way too old so I'm interested to see who comes up with the name of the CSA Ironclad.

Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

No real idea, but i assume that something might have fell into the water & they are looking at how to recover it? And based on the ship in the background (I think its a ship ) il say this is probo 1920 or 1930's?

Yes, that's a three-masted sailing ship alright. You can see the Jib-sail just above the Pith Helmet of the guy leaning over and looking down into the water. He's probably saying, "Ah was certain Ah had put that blooming drain plug back in".
