The drydock at Mare Island is flooded again, time to say goodbye to another one. :(

Yes, AIDE is due to leave tomorrow. AMBASSADOR will then take her place on Thursday.

Current list of ships coming through Mare Island:
AIDE 03/08 to 03/21
AMBASSADOR 03/22 to 04/09
ADVENTURER 04/11 to 04/24
AGENT 04/11 to 04/24
GLACIER 04/17 TO 05/02

These dates are screwy since three ships would be at Mare Island in mid-April. I presume the schedule will be changed again.

Allied added Drydock 4 to their lease a few months back, so they currently have 3 drydocks under lease (2, 3 and 4) and actually could handle that workflow.

Drydock 4 is the short dock to the south of the 2 that we can see on the webcam and is out of view to the right of the webcam, so it would be ideal for the Glacier. Sadly, it means we can't see anything...

A tug has showed up at Mare Island; AIDE should be pulled out of the dry dock shortly.

Very interesting to following the happenings of all these ships of the ghost fleet.

I had no idea all of these cameras were available for viewing by the general public.

The Tug SCORPIUS has just pulled AIDE away on her last trip to Brownsville. AMBASSADOR should be along sometime today for her cleaning.

EDIT: SCORPIUS seems to just be harbor assist. JACK BRUSCO is the tug that will do the tow to Panama.

Tug AMERICA is visible on AIS at Suisun Bay; I assume AMBASSADOR will be showing up at Mare shortly.

Thanks. Hopefully she'll be doing the full tow to Brownsville instead of handing it off half way down Central America to another tug. Will keep and eye for her arrival at the canal zone.

The Times-Herald today has a list of arrivals and departures at Allied Defense:

SS Ambassador. Scheduled undocking: Approximately 12:30 p.m., April 10
Future Arrivals:

April 11 - SS Adventurer, approximately 3:30 p.m.
April 17 - SS Glacier, approximately 11 a.m.

The article states dry docks 2 and 3 explicitly, meaning we shall be able to see both ships.

The ship I was stationed on is now in Beaumont,TX where I assume she will rot until the govt decides to scrap her or sink her. I don't really like either option, but it is what it is. I was there for her decom and it was like a funeral. Then I was there when she left Norfolk for the last time under tow. That was gut wrenching as well. I never knew a big ol hunk of steel could mean so much.
