Think I 'll pass on this one , I always wanted to fly one but in those days they never gave you a choice of what you wanted to do you did what they wanted you to do and that was it. I have flown several times with an older brother who has his private pilots license and although not a jet it still pretty fun.

As far as Raven...dont know couldnt tell you if he is or not but I assume there are those that can tell.

When he was just offering his opinion on warships, well that's one thing.
But on another thread he claimed to be an Eagle pilot. Nope nope nope.
I wonder if he'll even post on the WAB again.

Well, as I thought about it, this post does not make sense to me. All the current modern class ships are mostly better than the old ones , and only the CVs have multiple classes you can compare which are still in service. I may be biased as a technical civ geek who works for the Navy on the limited scope of its aircraft, but to me, on paper, the Nimitz outclasses the Enterprise and Kennedy in almost all respects. The Tico has no other CG class to compare to, unless you want to compare the Virginia class(but they are all decom). The Spruance, a fine class, cannot compare to the Aleigh Burke in terms of ASW, AAW, and Anti Ship. The SH-60B, which the Spruance has, cannot compare to the MH-60S or R on the Burke. The Seawolf, although expensive, is superior to one of my favorite attack sub classes of all time, the Los Angeles class. The Ohio class has no other modern American classes to compare to.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That's why I suggested a modification in post #5.

Best SSN - Seawolf Class
I thought the new Virginia Class subs are supposed to surpass the Seawolf.

Hmmm havent tried impersonating anybody ever but umm i think that if I ever did I would atleast be able to speak their kinnda launguage and have more inside info on the topic we were discussing. And I certainly wouldnt impersonate any military personel for we all know they deserve so much credit for what they do both known and unknown. Think Ill just stick with warships and such.

No, in a nutshell, the Virginia was supposed to be a Seawolf-lite, costing less so they could buy more. But that didnt quite happen. The Virginia's will probably be cut short, though not as bad as Seawolf.

Lucky you
How about scanning that baby into a .pdf format and emailing it to me?

I'm waiting on some more Norman Friedman's references.

TH if i had access to a large enough scanner I would be more then happy to share, however were taliking like 250-275 pages at pdf. Something I could never manage from home. I believe it would require a pretty large scan area so that pages dont get chopped off half way and the crease ends are eliminated. Unfortunately I dont have this capability in either home or at work. Sorry

Yes Sparten it certainly does this is one of the best books ive seen yet (I have 4 others that claim to be the best) Second to this one IMO has to be the Janes Book. But this book dwells on ships from battles such as Jutland, Dogger Bank, Heligoland Blight, RussoJapan, Spanish American, WWI,WWII as well as Faulklands and cold war etc. In most cases it details not only the second generation of the ships origin but the first generations as well as refits throughout the non war years. It also details ships classes that were dropped between the wars. I brought it as a reference to our discussions here on WAB as well as my own favorite reading habits. for 25.00 I just couldnt resist it.
P.S. This is always a good page for viewing battleships and cruisers. It has alot of pics just before they were broken up and some details.

This page contains alot of underwater images of the wrecks at Jutland.

Raven - Do yourself a favor and leave now before more people read your pathetic lies and REALLY dump a load of shyt on you. Bluesman was being REALLY polite on that other thread....don't wait for it to get worse.
true. how can you say F/15 C? i never make that mistake even though i'm an ordinary civilian.
