Building the rounds would be part of the upgrade and the technology for these rounds are already developed. I used the Bosnia thing as an example of the problems with air power.

I just checked out the map and with 100nm round we could reach allmost of Bosnia, including 2/3rds US part.

Back in the eighties there was a round under development with a range of 200nm and can be produced realisticly with already developed technology.

I attached an image of the reach of the guns with 100nm rounds. The BB can attack any target within the green zone without moving.

the Darpa 13" sabot shell had a range of 70 miles, the 11" sabot had a range of 90 miles(Nautical for both).

The shells were developed, prototyped, tested at sea, and were awaiting production when the BBs were put back into reserve in 1991.

There was also an Aegis system designed for the USS Iowa, but it was never installed, again, because the BBs were placed into reserve. The Aegis unit is sitting in a warehouse in NJ. Presumably, it could still be installed should the US ever feel the need.

Each battleship has a compliment of 6 UAVs for remote targeting. They were used in ODS, and have been a standard feature of the Iowas since their reactivation in the 1980s.

I think the IDF should buy the BB's that are in reserve, or buy some new ones. I'm sure she can find use for them in the next war. Are there any other navies that use BB's aside from the USN?

LOL, running one Iowa would probably cost more than the IDFs entire operating naval budget per year.

Probably take every guy in the IDF fleet to man it too, lol.

They go really far, but they don't pack much punch.

NM= Nautical Mile. Approx 1.12(or is it 1.15? LOL) statute miles. A statute mile is approx 1.6 Km.

i definately think carriers. you can never have to many carriers. the one thing we dont need is battleships. why shell a beach landing zone when you can guide a missle directly into the enemy?

Do you disagree with everyone just for the typing practice, or do you really think you've figured EVERYTHING out on your own?

LOL
