Anyways, enough of this, this thread was about small carriers and I'm off topic.

Let's be exactly clear about this. We knew where they were and they knew where we were.

The only non-Americans stupid enough to believe they have a hand up on the Canadians were the Spaniards and their carrier had to limp home while their destroyer had to beg for help in a Canadian port.

ALL THREE OF US have agreed to negotiate our border differences and that more than anything else tells us the strength that all 3 of us pocess together.

I'd like more information on that. I tried to find it on the net to no avail.

One observation I feel I have to state is the anti-American sentiments from Australians seem to cloud their judgement in matters like this. All of Europe is crawling with Aussies and this is common from almost every one I've ever spoken to. As Australians go they are a very proud (and stubborn) people and do not like to feel that they need anyone. Even my girlfriend was like this until I re-educated her, she's from Melbourne.

Australia doesn't need anyone or anything and they should build everything themselves as let's not forget they are young and free and the best at everything.

They remind me of another group of people that I know and like so well. The only difference is that in fact, Canada is the greatest place on earth.

Like it or not it is very necessary to be able to work with Americans.

Oh and in regards to the Steyr Stg.77 AUG being so much better than the M-16.. If the Steyr is so much better that the M-16 and it's multiple varients why do the special forces around the world not use it and go for C-7's and C-8's?

Sorry, I'd like to find out more about this escapade.

It's called the Turbot War. Google gives a whole bunch of diplomatic and fisheries actions. The military part was never serious though there was some primliary prep work by DND. The Spanish were never serious in challenging Canadian military might so far away from their shores and so close to Canadian shores.

The Spanish Navy found out that their ships were not climatized for the Northern Atlantic. Their carrier had to turn back after less than a month at sea and one of their destroyers had to be towed into Newfoundland.

This wouldn't have anything to do with those Spanish trawlers that we caught poaching our waters years back would it? I didn't realize that the Spanish where flexing their muscles over that.

Ha ha I just looked it up and it is over that. I remember that quite clearly as my family is all from back east and some where quite annoyed that the Spanish could fish and we couldn't. We should of seized the trawler taken the people off and skuttled the bloody things. They'd not have forgotten any time soon.

I like how the Spanish raped thier own waters and came over to rape ours as well. Selfish pricks.
