Heard this morning on the radio that the USS North Carolina will be stationed at SUBASE NLON (Groton, CT for you non-Navy types, LOL). My old stomping grounds. She'll be there with her sisters Virginia and Texas, Hawaii is just down the river still getting painted.

USS North Carolina

I believe the commissioning took place within a few hundred yards of the Museum ship, USS North Carolina BB-55.

Dont wait too long to go and check them out. Starting in 09 three of them are supposed to be moved over to Pearl Harbor. Not sure which three though, but I expect that USS Hawaii will be one of them.
