probably every single Burke will need the bow modifications, not just those 13.. since they were all built too the same specifications

They will need reinforcement in the bows of the ship. If you would like I'll grab the article and give the Navy's perception of the refit work to be done.

In retro I believe the last of the Burke's (DDG112) now building and un named thus far will already have the changes incorporated into it.

The article.....

Thirteen Arleigh Burke class Destroyers have suffered signifigant structural damage in rough seas because designers did not account for the effect of "Bow Slams" on the ships hulls Navy documents state.
Fixing the problem could cost as much as 63 million dollars.

Confirming British defense publication "Janes" revealing the design problems in the Burke class.

Support beams and other structures inside the destroyers warp and twist so much from the stress of withstanding high seas "bow slams" that they must cut out and be replaced, even in new ships- the destroyer Gridley, commisioned in February, already underwent repairs in September of this year. The document listed the following ships as damaged:

Arleigh Burke
Curtis Wilbur
Stout
Paul Hamilton
Strethem
Carney
Gonzalaz
The Sullivans
Ross
McFaul
Higgins
Winston Churchill
Lassen.

Whoops! That's a pretty big mistake. I'm a little surprised since the design of the Burkes should have accounted for heavy seas with a significant factor of safety built in. A costly and time-consuming foul-up by the designers.
