Trafalgar and Astute Sub

How good are the new RN nuclear Astute subs entering service soon? How are they better than the Trafalgar class and do they compare to the German fuel cell subs?

Well best said is that you never know how it works out until you test it in real combat , but based on the characteristics and systems that it will have I doubt it will be a serius contestant to Seawolf class or Graney class.

About the only safe answer to give is "very" - just about anything else is finger-breaking territory. SSN capabilities are very highly classified for obvious reasons.
As for comparison to the German subs, it's a case of horses for courses. The Germans have little use for subs outside the North Sea/Baltic so can concentrate on many other attributes at the expense of range and speed. The UK has global interests and so cannot.
