New Power Source for China's Subs

According to some sources, the new Chinese conventional subs are powered not by AIP, but lithum ion battery!

Is it possible?

lithium ion bats 4 new 13 km torpedo i read somewhere (I know it sounds vague, but it was 3 days ago, if I find link I'll send it)
