Maybe the best punk band out of L.A., from their Ain't Life Grand album here's Around My Heart. Rocks but with a really melodic and accessible sound-

Monday Jon Lord died from cancer at the age of 71. Best know as the Founder and keyboard player for Deep Purple
He also played on the first Whitesnake album.

Felix Cavaliere on organ/vocals, Dino Danelli drummer extrordinaire, Eddie Brigati on vocals and Gene Cornish on guitar. These guys were blue-eyed soul LOOOONG before Hall & Oates popularized the notion (and a LOT cooler too!). The hit list was astounding. I haven't included Groovin' or Good Lovin' because they're too obvious. But the others?
