I saw it this afternoon. I got to trade remarks about the movie with a young Marine with his arm in a brace. He was taking advantage of "limited duty" by going to the movies. Great movie.

Oh i bet he was ballin' a couple times.

There are some seriously emotional scenes in that movie.

The one where they wont serve the indian- this famous 'war hero' who is trying to save the war effort on a bond drive he wants no parts of, after basically giving away his sanity on Iwo Jima...

Profound.

Damn it, guys, I'm trying to hold off and watch the two (companion film "Letters from Iwo Jima") together.

Is that the one from the Japanese perspective?

Yep, they died almost to the man.
