Huh? Where'd you get that number?

Even the bloated program unit cost based on a tiny 180-ish buy is still "only" a third of that. And the flyaway cost is closer to ~$130 mil, IIRC, and dropping with each new Raptor.

    3. are u talking about only A2A or even A2G & A2S. ?
I think the air combats were all WVR, because at that time, J-10 was not yet equipped with PL-12. So, it was most likely J-10 with PL-8/PL-11 vs flankers with R-27/R-73.

The problem with su-27/su-30mkk is that its radar is terrible. So, it would not do much better against J-10 in BVR than in WVR. It got N001VEP for su-30mkk, which was still using a twist-cassegrain antenna. And it could only do two concurrent engagements with R-77. The su-27s uses the N001E radar, which is more archaic and can't even do multiple engagements. Although they might have been modified to R-77 capable. The proposed Pero phased array antenna upgrade would've made it better, but China did not opt for it. Actually, I think the issue is not that the Russians couldn't offer China better radar, but it was that China was not looking for an air superiority fighter when it got mkk.

I'm only talking about A2A. Su-30mkk was bought for more attacking roles, so their A2G capability is superior to J-10. The baseline flankers do not have any A2G capability.

Leading edge fighters are extremely expensive to develop and maintain/upgrade just check out the Eurofighter and the F-22/F-35 today to see that.
canada was never threatened by the states however they never got off canada's back and sort of bullied them into the decision, also the decision to scrap the ARROW was made in a fishing boat with the Prime Minister, and the President in it.

I don't see why US would threaten Canada. US sell F/A-18s to Canada and they're our biggest trading partner. If we lose trade with Canada we would have a big blow to US economy.

First off all, the F-35 is superior except in the area of manueverability to the SU-47, which might not even be produced. I would not pick the Super Hornet over the F-14D or the Strike Eagle in the "fighter" role and the Mig-29 is not superior to the JAS-39 Gripen or the French Rafale fighter. The J-10 ? What comes to mind when you think of "Made in China"?

I wonder why SU-30 MKI Flanker is out of the list. I would rank it above the EF-2000, and second best in the world after the just operational Raptor.

    I don't think a Su-30MKI is better than a Su-37.

How can you state that when SU-37 is not even operational till now?? Same with the F-35.

And aren't the SU-37 and SU-47 different names for the same aircraft, then why is the name twice in the list.

Either way, I would still rank it above EF-2000, and would rate SU-30MKI as the second best operational fighter in the world.

SU37 AND SU47 are different planes.. u might be confused with S37 which is another name for SU47.
