    Air Force Comparisons

    What do you consider to be the best air force ?

    I think the Israeli air force- IAF- the best one. The Israeli pilots are highly-trained and picked carefully. it's actually a fact the IAF better than the USAR (the USA air force)- israeli pilots had won the USAR in a ratio of 60:1 (israel has won 60 rounds and the USA won only one round againts israel) in a "red flag"- an aerial combat training and compitation. Israel has taken the first place is that competition (not just against USAR) ever since it has participated.
    Israeli's air force has up to 1200 aircrafts and many aircraft models, 4 of them are Israeli made and considered to be better than the F15.
    Regardless,the IDF is a powerful army. It's "SWAT", called "the YAMAM" has has taken the first place in a wold-wide (indluding the USA "S.W.A.T.") police units competition ("Urban Shields") and scored the highest score ever achieved in the competition.
    I really appreciate the Israeli nation.

    What do you think? What is the best air force in the world?

    If I had to guess, I'd say this guy was an Israeli teenage fanboy, most likely named Kerem, though I could be wrong...

    The USAF has more combat aircraft in its arsenal than either IAF, or RAF have in up to date medium ranged missiles
    (my guess).

    Im with Bigross86 on this one...

    What is the criteria for having the "best" airforce??

    Just some advice to this kid:

    • Winning afew international air meets is surely not one;
    • Having foreign produced aircraft in your inventry in my opinion hardly makes you the "best" airforce;
    • Having the greater number of aircraft does not qualify you as the best airforce....
    • Factors such as well-trained pilots, good maintenance, good ground crews, good fuel supply, handy supply of spare parts etc all jointly count
    • A network centric force structure etc are all important factors.
    • Mission profile etc is important
    • Weapons systems are important
    • AWACS support is important

    The list is long.

    Also, one airforce might be better for some missions than the other due to greater experience, planing etc.

    There is however without a shadow of a doubt of the most capable air force in the world... with nearly best capabilities across all boards... Numbers, Quality of Equipment, Logistic support, training, experience, etc...

    Honestly, this whole thread is hillarious seeing the giant gap between the #1, and the #2 and how obvious it is

    I remember when I was a teenager I was also positive that the IAF was the best air force in the world. We've probably got the best air force in the region, and rightfully so, but not the world, not by a long shot

    My vote goes to USAR. The transition from USAF to USAR has already made all the difference. They are no longer on active roster, and sipping coconut drinks under palm trees.

    FYI Krem,
    USAF : United States Air Force
    USAR: United States Army Reserve

    I voted for France, because who cares.

    Also, Red Flag does not work the way you think it does. It's not two countries facing off, it was a couple of Israeli planes embedded in an overwhelmingly USAF strike package against another force of USAF pilots pretending to be pseudo-Soviets.

    I Vote China, they have the F-22 Killing J-20. It was a toss up though, because Russia has the PAK-FA which ass wups the F-35. I read it on the internetz.

    I ommited mentioning any country intentionally. However, the US is obviously at the apex. The US Airforce can be considered the benchmark for other airforces which one can use for comparison purposes.
