Big deal. Even if it beats the Raptor in range (not that would be much to brag about) and maneuverability (under what conditions?), I doubt it'll trump the Raptor's air to air load out, unless Putin was thinking about air to surface munitions.

I'd hope that with an introduction date 15+ years later it is a comparable airplane. I don't know about his claims of being better but would guess its close on all fronts though maneuverability may well be better if hit has 3D thrust vectoring not just 2D. Range - both are hopefully basically unlimited other than pilot endurance due to air to air refueling. weaponry? I think the T-50 will have to get beyond the flying prototype phase to really be able to tell and then compare both using both internal and external stores. Saying that using all its hard points it outshines the raptors internal bays is kinda silly and if its range becomes 100 KM if you load everyone of its hardpoints to max with weaponry its also sort of pointless. I'd like to see a typical mission load out comparison of armament.

I'd actually like to see both go head to head with an unlimited playground.

Not going to happen anytime soon. No country that can afford the T-50 is silly enough to take on the US in the next 15 years.

Maybe the IAF will buy one eventually and bring it out here to play with the Raptors at Nellis?

They'd be on the same team, but yeah that'd be sweet.

He didn't claim its radar or systems integration would be better, or that it would be more stealthy. I think that says enough.

Don't the Typhoon and Rafael qualify as 5th generation fighters?

i still think the f22 would give the t50 a spanking, and i think the tiffy and rafael would give it all it could handle,i"ve been over in another forum where there is a badge of a f22 suppossibly downed by a rafael or a mirage 2000 sometime back is being shown.i know the rafael had a hard time with the f22 here while back when they met, but the french plane did well too.i would consider it and typhoon 5th generation.development dates are close,i thought, production too.not much difference.just opinion.

AFAIK, they are 4.5, not 5th generation, the distinction being semi-stealthy characteristics and cross-section, but not an actual stealth plane.
